b555 Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 R.K.Radhakrishnan @RKKrishnan Foreign Correspondent for The Hindu. Current interest is post-conflict societies Colombo · http://radhakrishnan.com R.K.Radhakrishnan @RKKrishnan Stories corroborated by me reveal, shockingly, that every single Indian fan waving a flag at yday's match was harassed. #goingthecalcuttaway R.K.Radhakrishnan @RKKrishnan One woman Indian supporter had beer cans thrown at her; had to face booing at R.Premadasa.yes, there was huge police presence. Shame #lka R.K.Radhakrishnan @RKKrishnan The Tendulkar fan, who travels around the world with the team, was forced to wave a Sri Lankan flag, slapped, and had missiles thrown at him R.K.Radhakrishnan @RKKrishnan The Tendulkar fan says he never faced such treatment ever, across the world. Even Bangladesh fans were cultured, compared to Sri Lankans. R.K.Radhakrishnan @RKKrishnan When well-heeled friends complained harassment by Sri Lankans at R.Premadasa, I took it as a joke. Is this the new Lanka in the making? R.K.Radhakrishnan @RKKrishnan I come from Chennai, the city that applauded Saeed Anwar for winning a match against India. Sorry, I cannot digest this #notjustcricket R.K.Radhakrishnan @RKKrishnan @AzzamAmeen It was really bad. I went to one of the stands to find out. Thought it was isolated and hence did not raise it in a public forum

jairamesh Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 If the online forums and Lankan posters are anything to go by, then rising anti-Indian (not just confined to cricket) is pretty evident.
Sean Bradley Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Indian Fans Attacked in Sri Lanka. Apparently Indian Supporters were attacked during the 4th ODI in Colombo as per a source on twitter, though i am not sure how credible the gentleman is, but he claims to be a Foreign Correspondent to The Hindu. The Indian cricket fans who were physically assaulted by locals at the stadium during the last ODI. It appears the less dressed Tendulkar fan who waves the Indian flag in almost all the Indian matches was slapped many times to wave sri lankan flag and beer bottles were hurled at ladies in the crowd. Few Tweets from RK Krishnan R.K.Radhakrishnan @RKKrishnan The Tendulkar fan, who travels around the world with the team, was forced to wave a Sri Lankan flag, slapped, and had missiles thrown at him. Nova Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Unbelievable. May be a few Lankans see us as bullies. There is always this small group of people everywhere who act retarded and bring shame to their nation.
Sean Bradley Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Must have been some minor incident' date=' otherwise our TV newschannels would have been going viral by now.[/quote'] Yeh, looks to be a minor incident, but attack happened for sure, read their forums and its flooded with terms like "Bloody Indians", In the event of being a cricketing super power, India & Bcci have rather made many enemies, and Sri Lankans are the latest entrants.
