Raghav_12 Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Do you think people anywhere in world care about their constitution when someone is celebrating enemy nation's independence day.In many countries those people could had been shot in others there could had been major riot.You should be praising those people that no unfortunate incident happened. Exactly. Talking about constitution rights in this case is height of hypocrisy. I find it a bit shocking that people at ICF don't find anything offensive in a crowd celebrating Pakistan Independence Day while being Indian citizens, just because Pakistan happen to be one of the representative country for their religion. I don't support Bajrand Dal's etc in most of their actions, but if they are protesting against these celebrations, I don't find anything wrong in that.

I mean, why else would subcontinental muslims accept being subservient to Arabs if they didn't feel strongly attached to the Pan Islamic community like NRIs may feel about India.

Can you please elaborate do Indians celebrate St GEORGES DAY THANKS GIVING DAYS the answer is no apart from valentines ,happy new year and christmas day i dont think they would celebrate any other holidays of those countries.

You'll not find these Muslims celebrate Saudi Arabia's national day or any other of the many islamic countries' independence/national day. It's not an accident that they choose to celebrate only Pakistan's independence day because that country was created on the basis of animus against the Hindu faith and people. The celebration is to show that they associate themselves with all that Pakistan stands for notwithstanding the fact that they have lived here since forever. It is designed to rile up the Hindus and remind them that they see themselves as a separate nation - as a part of Pakistan that was somehow left behind in India. Hit the nail on its head there . Dont know why people cant comprehend that its wasnt love for Pakistan the country but solidarity with Pakistan the ideology .

Actually, one reason Americans or Canadians tolerate Sikhs with their extravagant Vaisakhi parades or Indian with Independence Day Parade is because These communities are truly minorities ~ 1%. So they pose no harm to their Christian Cohesion. I bet once they start approaching bigger numbers like 5% or above, you will see a increase in Anti Indian Hatred. Case in Point - increasing Anti Islam voices in France and UK ( - 7.5 % and ~5%). That is why I laugh at this Secularism charade in the west. It is Smoke and Mirrors.

Clarke Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 :headshake: Leftist idealists celebrating Pakistan's Independence day alongside Indian Independence day is NOT the same thing as Islamists celebrating Pakistan to rub it in the face of Indians. There's enough of both groups in India to notice the difference and not recommended to club them together. Its like clubbing those protesting the nuclear tests in 98 with anti-nationals, they're not pro-Pak/China ahead of India, they just want to live in an ideal world which unfortunately doesn't exist.

Does Pakistan have an identity? I think it is neither.( Sorry Pakistanis). It is an anti-identity. It is an anti-ideology. If your basic identity is defined by more of what you are not ( in this case, what they claim not to be), and less of what you are; you are sowing seeds of confusion and hence hatred in the long run. I pity those people who wave Pakistani flags on the 14th of August. As someone else mentioned, they do this to rile all those who believe in the idea of India. Even if someone placed their Islamic identity over their national/regional identity, Pakistan would be the last country that they should celebrate.

Main issue is and has been, since 1947, Nehru's Congress. Specifically its policy of Socialism (read extensive Government Control). To justify that they've kept Majority of India under extreme poverty. To sustain that - vote bank politics and politics of appeasement. Get rid of Congress and there is no problem. Unfortunately that kind of extreme makeover is going to be preceded by major chaos and upheaval. No two ways about it.

If that had been the case, Hinduism would have been finished long time ago. And current generation would be studing Mahabharat and Ramayana in the same vein they study Illiad.

They ruled over Punjab ( India , Pakistan ) , Haryana , Himachal , Kashmir , Peshawar all the while as they were most closely located to Central Asia / Afghan from where the invaders came.
