It would have been nonsensical for us fans to see them carry on and inevitably fill their boots against weak sides at home (NZ, Eng, etc.) Now we can push for youth in the team, and look ahead to plan for SA and NZ 2013. Good.

I would like to see the following lineup... Sehwag Gambhir Rahane Tendulkar Kohli Pujara Dhoni Ashwin Ishant (if fully fit else Zak) Umesh Ojha

SLICKR392 Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Tendulkar looked in really good touch against Pak in the Asia Cup after his 100 and am pretty sure he will do well against NZ. I read this somewhere in the paper that Tendu edged Zak's bowl and was caught leg before in the nets and then he started hammering Zak. Still looking to improve. I hope out youngsters carry on the same attitude as these guys.

Not everyone is a Jonty Rhodes...recently Kallis who is equally a good slip fielder dropped an easy one against England. Even Laxman was a good slip fielder...his catch of Hussey (V.Kumar's) and one of Ishan Sharma's I don't remember who that was (against Windies) also a good low catch. Fielding might be a concern but there wasn't a really big issue in the slips.

It's the ones you drop, not the ones you catch. However spectacularly. We coulda won the MCG encounter if he had caught Hussey when the edge went flying.

They could have easily got to 170-200 with Haddin and Siddle to come.

Siddle was at the other end when Hussey edged it, and Siddle departed 2 runs later. Haddin ahd already imploded, with their lead being 190-odd. If we could put up 170, you would think we could gather up the will to chase down 200. Then again, I suppose the game was lost on the third morning. And the series as well, a la the Broad hat-trick at Trent Bridge.

Good. You plan through A tours, not through home tests for tours abroad! And by your posts I can safely conclude that you didn't follow India's A tour to WI.
