gaurav92 Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Classy innings, but there are more runs on offer, he can make this a big innings :nice:
gaurav92 Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 The basement for the new wall has started to build...:two_thumbs_up: Too early to say that, but yeah he has shown signs that tempt us to post what you just did :nice:
krupaksk Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Great innings today. Wishing the best for a long successful career with many Indian victories and milestones on the way!!
Old guy Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 I am with Ian Chappell regarding Rohit. Chappell said on our tour to Aus that if we don't play Rohit in Tests we risk losing him as he will get bored and get into bad habits if he continues to be played at FC level when he's ready for Tests. You can't take the likes of Rohit and Rahane and play them in odis and if they fail in that format then kick them out. These guys are more suited to Tests based on their track records - Rohit averages 60 in FC & 35 in List A while Rahane averages 65 in FC & 37 in List A. It's clear based on eerily similar stats that the format best suited to them is the longer format (Tests) but somehow selectors are hell bent on getting them into odis  actually i can see him being successful in tests for that matter even in odis..but thing is talent to hit the ball is only part of being batsmen.. what about talent to defend tough balls ? thats where he lacks and its hard thing to see so im not surprised many people ignored this flaw he is like yuvraj...he has similar problem..raina too has iffy defense i would love to see rohit hitting those fluent hundreds for india..but honestly with his current defense and lack of less risky shots for easy 1,2 runs i dont see tht happening its same thing with raina with his current technique guy has got no chance even he is wonder ful striker of ball
Yoda-esque Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Congrats Pujara. Looks every inch a test player.
veer Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 good innings but people are going over the top... let him play some tests overseas and see how he performs.. I've faith in him but then I had faith in raina and rohit as well..
ViruRulez Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Congrats. And hope he continues the good work. However, it would be interesting to see how he performs outside the subcontinent. It might take his sometime this time round but he must be given a long run this time round. Pujara, Kohli should be there in the squad by default. Even Murali Vijay might be given another chance if Sachin retires in the coming months or next year.

ViruRulez Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 No Please. Let us first give chances to Rahane and Sharma in tests . Yes, Rahane should be given a chance before Rohit. I had miscalculated Rahane's age. Badri should be a no-no at this age unless he performs over-exceedingly well in domestic cricket. I am not that confident about both Rohit and Vijay though they should also be given a chance later on. Both have been given sufficiently long runs in the national team but failed to perform that well. Yes, we need some new replacements and so, they might be given another run but not convinced fully about either of them. Having said that, I might also prefer keeping Raina and UV only for LOI rather than test cricket in the future as I do not see the potential for the longer form in either of them.

ViruRulez Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Murali vijay should just stick with his IPL heroics. Vijay's biggest problem outside the subcontinent is his mental weakness. And it is clearly evident in his body language. He is a person with an unstable self-confidence rather than being that bad in terms of batting technique.
Yoda-esque Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Pujara' date=' legend in the making?[/quote'] :--D
Old guy Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Pujara' date=' legend in the making?[/quote'] no! :(( just another mediocre ftb playing on flatest track in the world against club class side he is mediocre and does not deserves any praise from some one like u.. he is not worth it
