I don't think we would have been as successful a odi team, and so good at chasing under pressure without Dhoni. The guy should have a picture of him next to the word "clutch" :hatsoff:

Yes, in ODI's dhoni has been good, though I don't think he'll be in missed in ODI's also even if he retire today.

Gavaskar usually don't make it to a first world XI while Sachin is usually part of all of those. I personally think that Gavaskar should also be picked ahead of cricketers who played cricket when quality of cricket was not comparable to current era like Hobbes etc..

There's a calm Dhoni brings to the team and even as fans we know that the match is never gone till Dhoni is around. Before Dhoni we were like headless chickens in chases and very nearly like the current Paki team where our mantra to win the match was to win the toss and bat. In fact most of the All Time teams I have seen from neutrals (read non-Indians) has Gavaskar as the Indian who makes it to the team most of the time. I mean you can very well have a middle order of Bradman, Richards, Sobers etc. and leave out Tendulkar but Gavaskar performed against the most potent pace attack ever which has to get him the nod. I personally would pick both Gavaskar and Tendulkar in my All Time team but if I had to pick only one Indian player in the team then I would go for Gavaskar ahead of Tendulkar.
