Ultimate_Game Posted August 25, 2012 Author Posted August 25, 2012 The Hyderabadi is the perfect example of how a pitch should play' date=' flat the first few days followed by it deteriorating on days 2/3+. NZ players being rubbish players of spin does not make it a poor pitch, their shot selection made Ohja and Ashwin look world class! Most fans would rather see a few more runs than wickets.[/quote'] A bit more turn would have been nicer
Trichromatic Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 A bit more turn would have been nicer and bit more bounce, at least above the knee.
Ultimate_Game Posted August 25, 2012 Author Posted August 25, 2012 and bit more bounce' date=' at least above the knee.[/quote'] No doubt. Just imagine likes of Ashwin, Ojha and possibly Harmeet bowling on a pitch with plenty of turn and bounce :woot:
Crookbond Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 ^ Harmeet? That Deccan Chargers (now Kings XI Punjab) IPL medium pace bowler! :headshake:
Trichromatic Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 No doubt. Just imagine likes of Ashwin' date=' Ojha and possibly Harmeet bowling on a pitch with plenty of turn and bounce :woot:[/quote'] On Indian pitches spinners get more wickets because of bounce than turn. Kumble and Bhajji both relied more on extra bounce. Hyderabad pitch is offering turn, but it's slow. Good batsmen can always manage this type of turn, but not the bounce. That's why I think this pitch is still not that good. They can prepare a better pitch which would offer more bounce to both pacers and spinners.
bajrang Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 thats why i agree with dhoni, we need pitches where harbhjan's dart will turn like murli's off break.
Ultimate_Game Posted August 25, 2012 Author Posted August 25, 2012 thats why i agree with dhoni' date=' we need pitches where harbhjan's dart will turn like murli's off break.[/quote'] I doubt Bhajji will be able to turn anything anymore :giggle: But yeah I agree with your sentiment about the turning pitch
The Outsider Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 U_G between a Bombay '04 and a UAE track of this year or Mohali '10 which one would you choose?
Ultimate_Game Posted August 26, 2012 Author Posted August 26, 2012 U_G between a Bombay '04 and a UAE track of this year or Mohali '10 which one would you choose? UAE one coz it was turning from Day 1
Utalk Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 UAE one coz it was turning from Day 1 It must have been that huge turn where most batsman were bowled or lbw.
Ultimate_Game Posted August 26, 2012 Author Posted August 26, 2012 It must have been that huge turn where most batsman were bowled or lbw. Sure was when Hafeez was foxing English batsmen on Day 1, session 1 of Test :haha:
thongale Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Sure was when Hafeez was foxing English batsmen on Day 1' date=' session 1 of Test :haha:[/quote']That shows English are **** against spin
The Outsider Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 UAE one coz it was turning from Day 1 Really? UAE pitches were turners? Were you in an incubator in the 90s?
Trichromatic Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 UAE pitches were not rank turners. There was little bit of turn which actually helped Ajamal to disguise his doosra. Overall they had good pitches there as it helped pacers also. Broad, Gul and Anderson were able to bowl well there.
Spiderguy252 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 So was this a good pitch? A bit for the seamers, and a lot for the spinners. If the batters can't face the turning ball they should just f(u)ck off and go back home, work on it. Nothing against the Kiwis here, but watch the typical England whining in a couple of months. I won't mind if this pitch is a template for the remaining 9 tests this season.
Trichromatic Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 No, more bounce would have better. It was slow turner with no bounce. It wasn't that difficult for batting. NZ batsmen weren't good against spinners and umpires made it worse. I would like a pitch with more bounce for spinner and pacer.
1983-2011 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Thank you - Hyderabadi pitch curator In India, the pitches should always be spin friendly when the oppositions main weakness is playing the spin bowlers. If they can prepare green tops in their back yards then why cant sub continent teams prepare dust bowls when they visit us. whoever prepared this pitch at Deccan:hatsoff:
saneindian Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Need more sharper turn and bounce for the spinners, more the merrier. Otherwise an excellent pitch.
