good pitch for this opposition but against better batting line ups and bowling line ups more turn and bounce will be needed.
+1. Decent players of spin can have manage to survive on this pitch. Slow turn allows batsmen to adjust as long as they are not completely shyt against spin.

^ Imran Khan described this pitch as "Cross border terror"
didn't have the bowlers to exploit the track Umar Gul 8 0 36 3 4.50 (2w) Iftikhar Anjum 10 4 26 2 2.60 (1w) Yasir Arafat 5 0 33 1 6.60 (1w) Abdul Razzaq 10 0 33 1 3.30 Mohammad Hafeez 8 1 23 1 2.87 (2w) Shahid Afridi 6 0 26 0 4.33 (1w) Shoaib Malik 3 0 21 0 7.00 too much spin and poor seam options.

Why single out one track? That CT had so many bowler friendly tracks and IIRC Andy Atkinson, ICC's chief curator was using some sort of a spray and other special methods to keep the pitches together/prevent them from doing too much.

I am just looking at the Australian innings of the Mumbai 2004 Test match Langer - Bad bounce Ponting - false shot Martyn - Played back to a fall when he should have been forward Hayden - bowled around the legs, another false shot played too inside the line Clarke - Should have been forward and played back Gilchrist - holed out in the deep Hauritz - LBW, probably not out but fault of the pitch Kasprowicz - Ball bounced high, caught off fending - pitch fault McGrath - Edge to first slip, false shot So effectively out of all the wickets only 2 wickets - Langer and Kasprowicz were a pitch issue. It is not to suggest that the pitch was not bad.

Spin friendly wickets should be prepared only for Australia,SA and England not for NZ or Windies. In this way people are doing fine job for killing the test cricket

Exactly. I feel sorry for Umesh and Zak on these pitches.

Zaheer looked brilliant in the 2nd innings. That over to Flynn where he bowled few in swingers and out swings and out of no where a brilliant yorker. Flynn hardly survived that. Umesh din't get much swing so he stuck with his plan of attacking and he did pretty well. Though McCullum nicked it...it was a very good bowl at good pace.

swung a bit for umesh but ya zack is the master if it does swings in next match i will back both of them to pick handful of wickets this is good attack.. in australia too yadav and zack did get 3-4 wickets at start many times but there was no backing honestly an inform ishant in australia would have made huge difference

Yeah, it was either Ashwin ( can't blame him on that track ) or Ishant or even Viru on the other end. Umesh-Zak spells together was pretty good. Ishant's bowling was absolute shyte to watch in the 300 innings of Clarke.

This is the first time India has won a Test match without Zaheer picking up a single wicket.

Those guys are the worse home side and the best away side. No matter how many turners we create they will manage to trouble us.
