jind Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Add Harmeet' date=' Ravikant and to a lesser extent Passi to the list as well.[/quote'] Harmeet's in the list actually. But yeah I don't know how I forgot about Ravikant , I'd add Ravikant Singh to the list. He bowled well and got crucial breakthroughs for India...still recall that yorker in the semi finals...That was a beauty. With his bowling action, he's got potential once he gets bigger and stronger in the upcoming years. A lot of these players aren't the finished products yet and it's kinda hard to put a label on them as they can further develop their game in the upcoming years. For example, the likes of Smit Patel have also batted well at times in the tournament. There's also Zol, I think we'll see him in the next WC. That would be a better assessment of his skills.
Ultimate_Game Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 This team was clearly greater than sum of its parts. Other than Vihari and Nath every single member contributed to the win and someone or the other always stood up to be counted when chips were down. Someone always took the responsibilty to steer the team home eiter with the bat or the ball. Amazing team and one one of the mentally toughest I have seen in under-age cricket :hatsoff:

TBH was disappointed in Zol. He looked as if the occasion was to big for him and temperamentally not suited to shorter format as he can't score quickly or go big. Smit was a pretty handy player to have in the team.

Zol is only 17,maybe he could pass the test next time
Ultimate_Game Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Zol is only 17' date='maybe he could pass the test next time[/quote'] I sure hope so coz in this tourney the stage looked too big for him.
Lord Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 I sure hope so coz in this tourney the stage looked too big for him. he made crucial 30 against Pakis.his problem is stepping on the gas.can improve.had a good Asia Cup IIRC
Hell Raiser Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 :yay::yay::yay: So Evil BCCI has bought another world cup. :giggle:
Ultimate_Game Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 he made crucial 30 against Pakis.his problem is stepping on the gas.can improve.had a good Asia Cup IIRC That's what I mentioned. He only looks comfortable when RR is not an issue. As soon as he has to pick up the pace, either batting 1st or while chasing he has no clue what to do and gives throws his wkt away. To me he's not suited to shorter formats and should get into A team for Test matches.
Ultimate_Game Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 :yay::yay::yay: So Evil BCCI has bought another world cup. :giggle: True :haha: BCCI made sure deserving Pakis don't win it and finish 8th :cantstop:

Ultimate_Game Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 too early to judge imo.he did well in Asia Cup wen RRR was high.maybe hes just out of form Not sure about the form part. He looked comfortable against Pakis as the RR was never an issue and it was all about surviving. Against Zim, NZ and Aus the pressure was to score with quick runs needed or RR going up and he looked so ill at ease.
Hell Raiser Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 True :haha: BCCI made sure deserving Pakis don't win it and finish 8th :cantstop: :haha: Star cricket, ESPN made Pak lose because as you already know they are the one's who telecasted Pak u19's match and put them under pressure. This led to the downfall of greatest, tailunted Pak side of all time.

This led to the downfall of greatest, tailunted Pak side of all time. Yup and BCCI bought Cricket Australia to ensure India played all its matches at Townsville :hysterical: Else the "world beating" Pakis would have cake walked to the title instead of losing to Bangbros and finishing 8th - just a spot below Bangbros :giggle:
Hell Raiser Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Great world cup. Pakis at position 8th And Loins at number 9 :hysterical::hysterical:
Old guy Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Great world cup. Pakis at position 8th And Loins at number 9 :hysterical::hysterical: only india doing well from subcontinent also bangladesh is getting stronger then lions good signs i guess
Ultimate_Game Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Great world cup. Pakis at position 8th And Loins at number 9 :hysterical::hysterical: Loins at 9 :hysterical: Some things never change even at u-19 level :cantstop: Would loved to have seen the playoff between Pakis and Loins. Would have been an epic battle for sub-continental wooden spoon :hysterical:
Hell Raiser Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 only india doing well from subcontinent also bangladesh is getting stronger then lions good signs i guess Bangladesh has good record at this level. I think they have a record of 6-5 against Pakistan. If Bangladesh can improve at the top level, its better for cricket.
Hell Raiser Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Loins at 9 :hysterical: Some things never change even at u-19 level :cantstop: Would loved to have seen the playoff between Pakis and Loins. Ultimate_Game Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Yeah. Epic is the right word. Fake loins Vs Cornered donkeys. B-> And Pakis & Loins call us FTBs :hysterical:
