ShebbySB Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Kohli & Pujara has already made it to the test team.Barring them these the best of the talents we've got right now:- 1)Mandeep Singh(in the India-A team) 2)Rohit Sharma(tons of ability but terribly out of form) 3)Suryakumar Yadav(in the India-A team) 4)Unmukt Chand(in the India-A team) 5)Manoj Tiwary(in the ODI team) 6)Ajinkya Rahane(in the test squad) 7)Abhinab Mukund(opener)(in the India-A team) 8)Robin Bist(dropped from the the India-A team) 2 of these guys can make it into the test team replacing Raina & Badri.Though Badri should get some chances in place of Raina before he's dropped forever. These guys are the best we've got right now & we'll have to use every bit of it after the retirement of Dravid,VVS & Dada.
rkt.india Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Add Manish Pandey to it as well. Manpreet Juneja from Gujarat who scored 200 in his debut match last season. Mayank Siddhana, Punjab. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/player/34488.html
ShebbySB Posted August 28, 2012 Author Posted August 28, 2012 what happened to pandey guy ? Too flashy at the moment. Can't build an innings but highly talented no doubt. Others are more complete than him.Plus these are the guys for test matches. Our ODI & T20 teams are pretty settled.

Mayank Siddhana, Punjab. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/player/34488.html Juneja has played only 2 FC games & Mayank has played just a season. They're talented but nowhere near a test selection.I have mentioned the players who are knocking the doors of test spots. Most of them are in the India-A squad or already in the test reserves.Guys should perform for their states then get selected for the zonalDuleep trophy & perform there consistently. It'll open the door for India-A.They'll tour diff countries & play in various conditions. If they perform then & only then they should be selected for the test matches.

Suryakumar too has only played 1 season. I named them because they are 2 of the other guys to watch out for. I was impressed with Manpreet Juneja. I saw him playing Varun Aaron bowling at 145K comfortably in Vijay Hazare trophy one day match. In this match, Aaron clocked the fastest ball in Indian domestic cricket.

But at this moment the guys I've mentioned are the contenders & also in the selectors' radar.

skindia Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 unmukt chand is hyped player....no performance in first ranji season in any format...how chappel saying he has talent based on 1-2 good innings...
skindia Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 it seems indian domestic opposition sides are more strong than under 19 foreign teams..
rkt.india Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 unmukt chand is hyped player....no performance in first ranji season in any format...how chappel saying he has talent based on 1-2 good innings... He averaged 51 in first season. He is still learning, only young.
skindia Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 He averaged 51 in first season and 45 in second season. He is still learning' date=' only young.[/quote'] I remember one article in which prabhakar was blasting delhi players like chand coz of their careless shot selection...IN list A matches may be he is good for tests...but in odi his strike rate is around 70 which is less...also in t20 he is having strike rate of 76..
Lord Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Mukund was very bad in Eng.its sad we dont have another opener with Rahane to replace GG n Viru as both r doing badly.
skindia Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Murali vijay can be ideal opener for tests....but srikkanth and company spoiled careers of murali vijay and rohit sharma by picking them for wrong format..
