'Nobody good enough even to tie Sachin shoelaces' - Shastri Kolkata, Dec 6: Former India captain turned commentator Ravi Shastri feels there is no replacement for Sachin Tendulkar at the moment and went on to say "nobody good enough even to tie Sachin Tendulkar's shoelaces". It's true.. . most of them are like speck of dust compared to Sachin.. but that still doesn't mean that Sachin's prolonged lack of form can be something to be shoved under the carpet. One thing has nothing to do with another. Sachin's greatness is indisputable.. but he is human after all and he seriously needs to ponder if he is becoming a liability and burden. From someone of Sachin's stature and experience.. I would expect him to be his own impartial critic about his standing in the team and make decisions accordingly.. but unless Sachin comes out and says that aloud.. I will always be wondering if Sachin's passion for playing cricket is somehow clouding his ability to be introspective about his current position.

If you care to note you will note I didn't mention them too. Also if you read my previous thread on "rank turner for last test" I include those two batsmen at no5 and no6. Both those positions are not established. Tendulkar has established himself since debut as world class so cannot be replaced unless he retires. Also glad he made that ton v Bangladesh. Pointless game but some good came of it. Need more tons to keep Kallis at bay.

It's not a credibility issue. People who say records don't matter are lying. Tendulkars success and the teams are interlinked. He can easily play till 45 because he is an ATG. Open your eyes. On other forums their fans want to see Tendulkar fail and for likes of Kallis/Cook to steal his glory. If you are a true fan you will support your players particularly when they still have the skills.

I love my team. But if you love your team you respect the ATG and the legends who made that team what it was. Without it's star players a team is nothing. I wasn't happy with B'desh performance of course. I was happy that he got the monkey of his back though. The fact remains he is still good enough to get into our team.

Nope you don't. Your previous posts prove the same. You love the team coz Tendulkar plays in the team. If tomorrow Tendulkar starts playing for another team you will start cheering for that team. You are no different from those fans who booed the Indian team and cheered SA in a match coz Ganguly was dropped. I am sure you will do the same if Tendulkar were to be dropped from the team tomorrow.
