Its almost like mentioning Sachin's name in anything positive is completely banned, that too on an Indian forum Any captain will have a bad record if his team full of match-fixers. G_B_ Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Wanting change from Dhoni as captain is fair enough after our 8-0 loss but wanting Gambhir as his replacement is just disastrous +1 the fact is india at the moment have nobody in the test arena who can replace dhoni cause since 2011 WC nobody has been in form in the "seniors" T20 and ODIs there are candidates with experience.

Even within the BCCI there are two lobbies. One belongs to Pawar and the other belongs to Srini. both these lobbies came together to throw out Dalmiya. Amarnath has a pubjab support but its not that strong. Patil like Vensarkar is very much in the Pawar lobby his dabble in the IPL aside. Quite frankly it was a mistake to have both chief selector since 2008 Kris and srini from the same lobby. They should have switched to somebody from maharashtra when srini became president. not even tamil nadu can stand up against the might of maharashtra in cricket as the state has three good ranji teams in mumbai maharashtra and viderbha and two IPL teams. The ambanis very much support the MCA (mumbai cricket association) As i said before, Patil is a head strong man and has his friend Binny with him on the panel. Dhoni is not going to get a free ride or reign over selection.

Must be cause he is concentrating on the ncp politically. But to say srinivasan is the only power center in the bcci is just stupid really.shows that most people dont have a clue whats going on. The east is never going to get a look in till Dalmiya is there. Indian cricket is run by Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu with punjab providing the balance between the two factions in between and outside support from gujarat. these 4 states matter the most.

I met him during the icl. I guess the downside of Patil is mumbai batsman like Rahane and sharma could get preference even if they are not performing that well.

I have been fortunate enough to meet a lot of ex Ranji and international cricketers including Eknath Solkar, Vengsarkar, Kambli and Patil. Vengsarkar is out of favour now. Ever since he used the sena support against NCP-Cong. and yes so have I usually they come out when Mumbai play at their BKC ground. Its a shame in a way a person from outside mumbai (pawar) has so much control. Speaking of Patil, the man bet on the wrong horse. Would have been much more powerful than he is now if he would have stuck to the bcci.

With srinivasan now and jaitley to take over we cannot have selectors or powerful selectors from these regions. As i said before, you have kris srini and dhoni all connected by the csk connection. that was too much concentration of power. What will happen is Patil will push for mumbai/maharashtra based players and Dhoni will push for his players. In the end there will be balance and there will not be any stupid selection issues. People saying Jadeja for eg is a Dhoni selection are 100% false. Jadeja was more of a Gujarat lobby selection issue. Raina Chawla RP and those from the Hindi belt are Dhoni selections. Srini paid good money for Jadeja to keep the Gujarat lobby in his side via CSK and to thwart attempts from the mumbai lobby to via Mumbai indians to keep the Gujarati boards on their side.
