BCCI is considering the option of three different captains for three formats following Team IndiaÃÔ unsatisfactory performance in the ICC World T20, reports IBN7 on Monday. India failed to qualify for the semi-finals despite winning four of their five matches in the tournament that concluded in Sri Lanka on Sunday with West Indies coming out on top. India captain MS Dhoni of late has been at the centre of criticism from former players. Ex-India spinner Maninder Singh in a scathing interview to Cricketnext.com last week said, "It is time we looked for a new captain. Basically, Dhoni is a gambler and he believes in his intuition. These gambles work when the time is good, but when it is bad they start backfiring. He made some blunders when we were winning the matches but those swept under carpets. Losing 8-0 in abroad Tests, failure in the Asia Cup and failing to qualify in three World Twenty20 semi-finals is very disappointing, Maninder said. "I think Virat Kohli should be the captain. Kohli as T20 captain should be taken forward. Dhoni should be eased out in ODIs and Tests. I don't appreciate sudden change.

Don't give the captaincy to Kohli. Let the guy play for few years without the pressure of being a captain. He's only 24 afterall, plenty of time for him to captain India later in his career.

Dhoni should remain as ODI captain. Kohli should be given T20 captaincy. Think we should wait till the England series before changing test captaincy . If Kohli performs well in the England series too then he should be given test captaincy as well regardless of results. IMO Dhoni should retire from T20 s along with other seniors ( sehwag Gambhir Zak etc) and only continue as ODI captain.

No harm in giving T20 captaincy to Kohli. Afterall he was U19 team captain too and it's not that his performance will get affected. You need to groom somebody and this is the right time. Let Dhoni be the ODI team captain and if he agrees, GG can be the Test team captain.

GG is in terrible form right now in Tests.:cantstop:. I won't be surprised if he gets dropped.

Anyways, Kohli has not really proven in T20. But of course, he is a contender together with Raina or even Ashwin. These 3 current players are potential captain materials. It would be very stupid if Sehwag, Yuvraj or even Gambhir gets the captaincy as it lacks any vision. But as of today, Dhoni is the best leader and there is nothing to suggest otherwise.

He can stay in odi team Boot out from captaincy was main point. I would even keep him in T20 team. No way should be in test team. I actually think if relieved from captaincy his own performance may improve

Funny. And perhaps when your new captains lose, let's change the captaincy again. Maybe, let's just follow the Pakistan model. Pathetic post from you. Captaincy is not our root cause for our problems. There are severe other problems but you just don't want to see it or will just ignore it. Actually, perhaps, it is only because of Dhoni's captaincy from which we have still won some matches.
