Old guy Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Sorry i did not see anything special in pankaj bowling .He is a workhorse and deserved a chance agianst england a but to say he is better than zak currently is taking it too far. i saw enough i dont know what do u mean by special ? snotter he bowled to das in 2nd innings it was as good as tht sreesanth ball to kallis :winky: he swung the ball at pace what more do u want? also not to mention economy rate of under 2!!!!
MCcricket Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 He has always performed well against dc batsman but i would have liked to see him perform in irani trophy or a tours or agianst england. I mentioned based on current bowling form, Zak is half the bowler he was, at his best he was the second best left handed bowler I ever saw after Waseem, Ishant is off the boil, same for Zak, not reputation but present form, Pankaj was never quite there as a international class bowler , he had the potential but lacked the extra pace and zip , the way he has bowled all thru out his career and now with more pace and bounce, moving the ball both ways with pace , bounce coming from a 6 6" bowler who hits the deck and bowls with accuracy and plan, you have to be blind not to recognize what u see, he made Dinda look like a novice, same as far as how ZAK, iSHANT BOWLED.
vishalvirsingh Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 That Snorter to Kallis was probably one of the Best 3 balls bowled by an indian pacer and Since it was a BOUNCER it was all the More special. Probably that ball the reason Kallis got out else he was Looking so solid and I was kinda disaPpointed that he will save africa.....but Sreesanth had some other thots. That's what I want.....a fast Bowler should have the Capability to bowl those Dangerous Snorter bAlls.......
rkt.india Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 He has always performed well against dc batsman but i would have liked to see him perform in irani trophy or a tours or agianst england. but before he lacked pace and he has gained some pace now and with his accuracy and bounce he will be handy against any team. His action is more stronger now. There wont be any harm in giving him his chances now.

The diff Is Kallis and das. It would have been great if he played some practice matches against eng,we would have a better idea.
Old guy Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 The diff Is Kallis and das. It would have been great if he played some practice matches against eng' date='we would have a better idea.[/quote'] lol again ur not getting the point that ball would have gotten any one out be it das, sachin tendulkar or ponting good balls trouble all batsmen it wasnt short ball it just took of and even swung anyway we can disagree but right now this guy is much better then ishant who failed even again mediocre player atleast pankaj did well again das and co:winky:

rkt.india Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Thats debatable das was rooted to the crease at it was bowled at 130k ' date='even though bouncers are measured slower by some speedguns. The technique was horrible may be affected by previous balls.[/quote'] that was not even a proper bouncer...just bounced from a short of length. That was pretty similar to what Sreesanth had bowled to Kallis.
CG Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 that was not even a proper bouncer...just bounced from a short of length. That was pretty similar to what Sreesanth had bowled to Kallis. Kallis has a front press technique so he is on the front foot then he goes back .Sreesanth ball was more short of good length where as pankaj was of a good length may be due to his height and pitch.
rkt.india Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Kallis has a front press technique so he is on the front foot then he goes back .Sreesanth ball was also off a good length. that is why most batsmen would get out on such delivery.
CG Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 that is why most batsmen would get out on such delivery. But das got rooted to the crease where as most batsman would have been on the front foot at 130k.The video is of bad quality i cannot see where it hit das.

vishalvirsingh Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 I haven't seen Pankaj bowling now but I saw his 4 over spells in IPL...... A few of his balls were chest high or atleast waist high balls at 138 to 140K and Looked Dangerous balls but he atleast then had the Bad habit of bowling 125 to 130 trundling balls with hardly any Zip n bounce.....those balls are canon Fodder for international batsman and they feed themselves well when they get this....it shud be wither a genuine Slow purposefully bowled tricky Slow ball or All other balls shud be Effort balls like Umesh Yadav......umesh bowls 2 slow balls and 4 effort balls...where as this guy ws bowling 2 effort balls and 4 average balls which can only get wickets if the batsman throws his wicket or is some one like sehwag ready to giftwrap his wicket n Give.
vishalvirsingh Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 Ishant is a Hope in diguise......he has Some balls which beat Top class batsman like Pointing too with his height he gets bounce and he can bowl Pace so if I wud be Sandeep Patil I wud always Keep Ishant in the MIX as he has Class written over him and Hope that he improves his line n length and becomes a Lucky bowler.... Pankaj has probably the best physique a fast bowler shud have along with Gony.....and I definitely hope that these 2 guys Improve n play international Cricket..... Both have Solid Physique and good run ups .....just need to improve rhythm and bowling Action and they cud terorise batsman

msplash9 Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Rishi Dhawan took 6 wickets and 127 not out .Seems a very good prospect .
vivek_singh3187 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Good performance as a medium-pacer/allrounder by Rishi Dhawan, he's young but by looking at his overall stats (specially this season) he seems to be a decent Allrounder....if continues his performance then he can be our 7th Batsman + 5th Bowler in ODI's & in Tests (outside of subcontinent)
