Mandeep is out of form' date=' but it will only help him. He's still young and once he corrects his foward defense he will be a complete player. Definitely has the talent, by the end of this Ranji he will start scoring consistently. Next Ranji he will be prolific, then will come Test debut at 22 or 23. :agree:[/quote'] I will start taking your post seriously if you stop defending Harby, he is way past his prime.

10840.naga.jpg The Naga Cricketer
Zhimomi is from Sangtamtila, a remote village in Nagaland’s Dimapur district. As a school student, he would travel to Dimapur town to play cricket on a field that was actually meant for football. While his friends gravitated towards football, he continued to play both sports. Occasionally, cricket tournaments would be organised in Dimapur, and cricket clubs would miraculously appear, he remembers. In the middle of a football ground, in between two goal posts, a green mat would be rolled out to serve as a pitch. Zhimomi performed well in those tournaments and began entertaining thoughts of pursuing the sport as a career.

ShamiÃÔ spell sets up Bengal win, restores knockout hopes

Shami Ahmed was handpicked by Sourav Ganguly last season to replace an ageing Ranadeb Bose in the Bengal team. Ganguly was leading the side and was impressed with the fast-medium bowler from Uttar Pradesh, who was playing his club cricket for Mohun Bagan. Not that Ahmed was new to Bengal cricket. He had been plying his trade here for the last eight years and had made his debut for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy in 2010. He played just one match that season, against Assam, and was left out. But Ganguly insisted that Ahmed should be a regular in the state team. The former India captain was right on the money in the talent-spotting stakes. Within a year Ahmed was in the India A squad that toured New Zealand. So far he has been used as the second man in a three-pronged pace attack. But on Monday, as Bengal beat Hyderabad by six wickets, the 22-year-old came of age, as the front man in Ashok DindaÃÔ absence. His 10-wicket match haul four in the first innings and six in the second not only helped the hosts save the drop to Group B but also kept them in hunt for a quarterfinal berth, with 13 points from seven matches. On a green Eden Gardens wicket, he was at his best as he took his tally for this Ranji season to 28 wickets in five matches. This was his second 10-wicket haul in first-class cricket. Å¢hmed is sharp, can move the ball both ways, and above all, has a terrific attitude. From the middle of 2013, he should be a regular in the Indian team, Bengal coach W V Raman told The Indian Express. Raman, however, cautioned that he isnÃÕ the finished product yet. National selector Vikram Rathour, who was present for this Ranji game, must have taken note. No regrets Ahmed says he has no regrets about leaving his hometown Moradabad and coming to Kolkata to pursue a career in cricket. Å¢t Moradabad, opportunities were very limited and my coaches, Md Badaruddin and Ajit Singh, told my father to send me to Kolkata. My father agreed and I came here as a 14-year-old and started playing in different CAB age group tournaments, Ahmed said. The fourth dayÃÔ play started with the hosts having a slight edge over Hyderabad. Ahmed Quadri, who was 20 not out, was the key but Ahmed breached his defence in the fourth over of the day. He took one more to end the innings after Laxmi Ratan Shukla had Ravi Kiran caught behind. Hyderabad were all out for 181 and Bengal had to score 182 to win. They stuttered in their chase, losing their first three wickets for 47 runs. But Rohan Banerjee (56) and Wridhhiman Saha (52 not out) steadied the ship with a 79-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Befittingly, Ahmed hit the winning stroke an overthrow that gave him five runs.

10.35 am Karnataka surge in Mysore They haven't had the services of the captain Vinay Kumar, who has been off the field with a sore ankle. But Abhimanyu Mithun has sent back the centurion Amol Ubarhande, having him caught by Manish Pandey. Mithun had also dismissed Shalabh Shrivastava for 97 earlier in the morning. Hemang Badani has now fallen to the left-arm spinner KP Appanna. Vidarbha 339 for 5, and Karnataka's 619 is now far, far away.
Legend injured. Here goes the hopes of even a T20 win. :((
