Pandey and Shami look to be two ideal test bowler

Seen a video of Pandey and it has his average speed at 132kph. That is usually a little slow for you to rate him as a Test bowler. How comes Pandey impresses you despite a slight lack of speed. Not being confrontational, genuinely wondering because I have watched next to nothing of him.

Dinda, I dont like because he does not move the ball much and bowls at similar pace.

As a test bowling unit, you need variety and combination, one guy with pace, one who can swing and seam the ball. All pace or all seam-swing can be one dimensional.

I think Praveen could do well in Tests but I certainly do not want him in any Test squads because I don't believe his fitness is good enough. I think it is very damaging to have players that are always getting injured and I'd rather not have such a player around. Dinda seems an inconsistent FC bowler - he had a lot of poor seasons before his breakthrough season and seemed poor again this year. Pandey is an interesting one too because he hasn't got an IPL contract and has played 7 OD matches. Most people's way in to the Test team is through ODI performances because of BCCI's flawed policy and it is interesting to see if they buck the trend with Pandey.

Yes. he had played and I didnt see much seam or swing from him. Last year Shami outbowled him in duleep, on WI tour, Pankaj outbowled him this year in first match. He couldnt do much even at Mohali where Sandeep and Kaul ran through them.

There were national selector and secretary were watching him. Shami came into limelight same way last year. Pandey can be a good option for SA A tour next year then into test team if he does well.

Pandey had decent last season 26 wickets in 6 matches and this season, he is highest wicket taker now, 42wickets in his 7th match, still very early in his FC career. This is his 15th match.

Harbhajan didn't bowl a single over in the 2nd innings vs Gujrat. Wonder whats wrong with these guys. Bowled well in the 1st innings but probably once the ODI and T20 sides were announced, he lost the motivation! Instead one would have expected him to bowl more and bag a rich haul to show the electors he still hasn't lost it. Not to be. PK, Munaf, RP have shown similar attitude issues, waiting for IPL and missing the FC season.

Impressive thing about Ishwar Pandey is the improvement he has shown since last season. He has worked on his action, looks to have gained better control and also is a couple of yards quicker. His namesake Ishwar Chaudhary of Gujrat, who looked like a great prospect last year (similar built, height, action and even pace) seems to have regressed and is struggling this season. Good thing is all these guys are relatively young and still have time to have a strong season and come into national contention.
