A day after Harbhajan Singh was ignored by the national selectors for the Pakistan ODI and T20 series, the Punjab off-spinner sat out the third day's play of the Ranji Trophy match against Gujarat in Valsad. While many claimed the Punjab skipper, who scalped three wicket in the Gujarat first innings, was sulking, Bhajji didn't come to the ground claiming to be suffering from 'food poisoning'. A tweet from Harbhajan Singh said: "Not well today. Stomach ache. Food position (sic). Feeling yukk." But surprising it was taken down from his Twitter account after some time. Punjab coach Arun Sharma too reiterated Bhajji's version. "He didn't step out of his room all day and was suffering from severe food poisoning. We are chasing 231 to win and Bhajji bats at number seven. If required he will definitely come out to bat tomorrow," he said. But a PCA official present at the venue said: "He was missing from the field because he claimed he was unwell. If there is any truth in the reports of him not coming to the field as he was ignored for the national side, BCCI/ PCA should ban him for some matches. Definitely not the kind of guidance a young and talented side like Punjab needs.

Jharkhand coach who has seen likes of Aaron and Shukla, now Ajay Yadav and others from Delhi himself is saying he has not seen a bowler like Sandeep Warriers in Ranji for a long time then he must be something really special. I cannot believe a coach who has seen Aaron clocking 150ks in domestic cricket is saying that.
MCcricket Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 Watching Ranji trophy for last couple of years I believe India has a lot of talent, things are improving a bit with wickets, teams getting professional, coverage, talent hunt and all, seeing a lot of pacers coming thru , overall the quality is getting better. On the flip side batters don't learn to build innings as well and play correctly more now with the advent of T20, SPINNERS ARE NOT SPINNING THE BALL MUCH, SPINNERS ARE BOWLING MORE IN ODI AND T20 MODE. Fielding has improved, selections, grooming, TV coverage and point system has to be looked at.
