Mithun was hailed as among the fastest by the coaches till we saw him bowl live and he turned out to be a 130+ bowler. Worrying thing to read about Sandeep is the comment by the coach on his physique. Hope we do not have a Tyagi in the making, who seems to have been lost to numerous injuries after spending close to 8-9 months on team India bench.

Mithun was actually hyped up. He never was 140+ bowler but certainly used to bowl in high 130s, but he problem started since he changed his action when he went to Australia after an injury and that changed action stalled his progress and then he always was a one dimensional bowler. Though, I agree dont believe until there are video evidences. Regarding Murasingh of Tripura, Venkat Anant saw him in a match at Nadaun.

Remember Mithun when he first started playing , he bowled around 138 to 144 k, have seen him in IPL debut, he had a side on action and used to get movement and bounce.

Most worrying thing to read is that not one of these young bowlers seems to have been to the BCCI's fast bowling academy under Karsan Ghavari. Wonder what is the purpose of that academy. Last year they had done a pacers camp to identify talent, not sure what happened to that entire program.

Mccricket bowling 140+ in IPL is easier and am sure Mithun can do that even now, but when he plays FC cricket he hardly bowls 130+. No one has ever asked him to change his crooked action (better use of the non-bowling arm) and that has totally ruined him as a bowler. He has the perfect athletic built of a pacer who can bowl long spells as he showed in his debut in SL but looks to have stagnated completely.
