Holysmoke
BTW, are you sure the impact is only a couple of feet away after watching it so many times. the distance between stumps and crease is 4 feet (1.22 m). and the ball is stuck about a foot outside the crease. couple of feet :finger: Link to comment

I cant find the original - the googlectrlcv It was a quote from the web page referred from the manufacturers of the speed guns proving that short balls are registered slower than fuller ones. kumble_rocks
Why don't we have a poll and settle this once and for all ! He was clearly not out , IMO. Link to comment

Predator_05
How can the trajectory of a ball fall immediately after bouncing ? Link to comment
Guest dada_rocks
Things which impact average ball speed (1) Initial speed (2) Viscousity of environment in which ball move (3) Nature of surface i.e. type of collision ( extent of inelasticity ) (4) Length of the ball pitched Assuming initial speed remains same in case of short-pitched ball u will see a quantum reduction in speed after impact unless there is spring board instaleld in the pitch and collision somehow turns super-elastic. Decelration affected due to air-friction drag would not be much different throughout the trajectory. U can see it's logical for the short-pitched ball to have slower overall speed than fuller length ball. Link to comment
coffee_rules
I had seen another video of it, where it looked 80% out. I have no problems with that dismissal after watching the videos. If some umpire gave that out, I wouldn't blame him for what was SRT's stupidity. Link to comment

Surely, all this is too tedious to explain if you know it as an expert will... Link to comment
