Tiger80 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 How many people in India make fortune by selling their land? My question was from different perspective.Land and real estate is something which has bought corruption money to Common man in last 20-30 years.Even a very small house owner how much to ask in No.1 and No.2 money and nobody feels hurt about No.2 money. They just feel it is norm

But saying that majority benefit from it, isn't true. It's a norm for sure and quite acceptable for everyone.
Tiger80 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Yes' date=' many people who live in cities, work for the govt and have businesses do benefit a lot from corruption. But saying that majority benefit from it, isn't true. It's a norm for sure and quite acceptable for everyone.[/quote'] But now it is not question of cities anymore .Punjab, Haryana etc have seen some sky rocketed land prices in last 20-30 years and people may never vote for party which will hurt their land price.I am sure wherever this bogey of high real estate price will reach ,most of the people will be very happy irrespective of from where money is coming
Tiger80 Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 ABP news went to 2 farmers Ghajanand ghadke and Bhagat which were named by Kejriwal .Both farmers have possession of their land.Ghadke is also sarpanch and 10,000 shares in Gadkari factory. He told ABP news that he has no grievance against Gadkari ,just a minor dispute .He also grow sugarcane bought from Gadkari's nursery. Sorry to say Kerjriwal this time has done self goal Maharashtra ex-top cop slams Kejriwal: 'I will expose him' New Delhi: In a stunning claim, that is likely to be a major setback for the India Against Corruption activist Arvind Kejriwal- who has kept all the parties on toes- a former IPS officer YP Singh said that erstwhile Team Anna member is using the name of IAC for his own political motives. According to a report published in news portal, Singh accused Kejriwal of taking his favour in the name of anti corruption and Anna Hazare, but used the documents for ‘personal political advancements’ by Kejriwal. Report said that Kejriwal had requested for Singh's help in preparing and drafting legal documents against some corrupt Congress leaders. The IPS-turned-lawyer threatened to expose Kejriwal as he took to social networking site Facebook to claime: "I am working on the papers and documents. If ready, then I will hold a press conference on Thursday to expose Kejriwal and also the senior politician." Singh also raised questions on Kejriwal for being selective over the 'exposures' against politicians. "Why did Kejriwal suppress a big irrigation scam against a senior politician which was known to him with a clear quid pro quo and took up a frivolous case making some false allegations on a petty matter," he asked on Facebook. Singh's claims came a day after Kejriwal targeted BJP President Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday, accusing him of receiving personal favours by getting around 100 acres of agriculture land in Maharashtra after the Congress-NCP government there bent rules.more a businessman than a politician". The development assumes significance since Kejriwal's latest expose on Gadkari is being taken as more of an 'eye-wash'. However, the claims by former IPS officer are expected to bring the activist under fire. http://daily.bhaskar.com/article/NAT-TOP-maharashtra-ex-top-cop-slams-kejriwal-i-will-expose-him-3940294-NOR.html
urbestfriend Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 I concur that IAC hit a self goal in accusing Gadkari of misappropriation over a 11 year lease of 100 Acres of land for public purpose. I guess Anjali Damania is main reason , looks like she had some personal agenda against Ghadkari and tried hard to expose him, finally achieving almost nothing.
King Tendulkar Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Gadkari is knee deep in corruption money. This all stinks, no own goal at all.
urbestfriend Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Gadkari may be corrupt, but the allegations from Kejriwal are more theatrics , less substance...Some allegations like Ghadkari's factories are polluting water were hillarious :giggle: I have my doubts about Gadkari's leadership, he looks like a local leader who has done some good to Vidharba region, but alleging corruption for getting 100 acre for lease of 11 years is clearly OTT.
Crookbond Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 How naive can people be! Kejriwal scored a "self-goal", Kejriwal is "hit-wicket". IAC here has exposed quid pro quo deals which exist between the ruling and opposition parties with the Vadra and Gadkari expose. Yes - you knew it/I knew it, so what? There's no harm in repitition. Gadkari was granted a swift favor by Ajit Pawar despite being in the opposition. This raises suspicion of collusion. There's a reason why you are called the "opposition". The excess land according to the rules should be given back to the farmers and not to any organization - simple.
Crookbond Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 ^ Is the land owned by the farmers? NO. How can you be confused between leasing the land to an organization versus that to the farmers? It's black and white. Try to understand what I wrote and what Kejriwal is saying before providing a counter tangential reply.
Crookbond Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Farmer named by IAC missing, wife living in fear http://ibnlive.in.com/news/gadkari-revelation-farmer-named-by-iac-missing-wife-living-in-fear/301005-37-64.html "My husband has been missing since that announcement on TV. I don't know where he is," she said. When asked whether she was scared, the woman said, "Yes. I am feeling scared now. I don't know any thing about the land and who took what. He never told me." She also said that she did not know Arvind Kejriwal or Anjali Damania and had only seen them on TV. When asked whether she knew Gadkari, Durga said, "Yes. He is a big leader, in fact my maternal village is the same as Gadkari's." When asked whether her husband said that Gadkari took away his land, she said, "He only said some land went to build a dam and some to a kaarkhana." Now, lets see what is a "self goal" and what is not.
CG Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Point that IAC is making is govt gave land which was brought for public purpose to ghadkari.where as according to law in the state if there is excess land after completion of a project it should not be given to private parties. Also regarding dams its a question of morality.

It is not black and white.the land was acquired in 1983 and compensation is paid to all farmers. According to BJP's defence only 1 farmer demanded land back in 2002 and it was rejected by Maharashtra Govt.In 2005 Govt allotted this land to Gadkari for nursery.May be Gadkari at that time used some of his infuence but even if Gadkari had not used his influence their was aminute chance that that land could had been returned to farmer by govt.God knows how many provisions are their for govt to return land

What part of this is so difficult to understand?

It becomes legal or grey if the cheating is not large-scale? Illegal allotment is illegal, no matter how you see it.
The Outsider Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 So, it doesn't matter if only 1 farmer demands the land. It becomes legal or grey if the cheating is not large-scale? Gadkari's business ventures was well known for some time now atleast in Maharashtra. In India almost all businessmen pay bribe and ask favours from govt. alleging corruption for getting 100 acre for lease of 11 years is clearly OTT. :hysterical::hysterical: As someone mentioned in this or a related thread, all this is nothing but good media time and entertainment.

Surely it is not at the magnanimous levels (in terms of money) but it is illegal nevertheless. In pure simple terms, the land can not be allotted to Gadkari's "charitable trust" no matter what the farmers say. The land has to be given to the farmers, if not it goes back to the government - simple as that. Either one is not trying to understand the issue or one is doing so due to an allegiance for a certain political party. It's about time we stop fooling ourselves and understand there exists quid pro quo deals with the ruling and opposition parties. The call for bandhs, ruckus in the parliament are to a large extent merely for public consumption. Mere hooplah does not solve problems, no bandh was ever effective. On the contrary, it has only proved detrimental in whichever angle you look at it. It is this sort of perceptions (false) which have damaged and will continue to be damage our country.

Yesterday Kumar Vishwas posted on fb that he received criticism from people because they tried to target BJP.
Trichromatic Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Can you cite the law which states that excess acquired land must be given back to the farmers? 95. When any land or part thereof, acquired under this Act remains unutilised for a period of ten years from the date of taking over the possession, the same shall return to the Land Bank of the appropriate Government by reversion; 96. Whenever the ownership of any land acquired under this Act is transferred to any person for a consideration, without any development having taken place on such land, twenty per cent. of the appreciated land value shall be shared amongst the persons from whom the lands were acquired or their heirs, in proportion to the value at which the lands were acquired :/
