what should be the format given that the English counties will not be taking part next year due to the domestic season scheduling. The tournament is also likely to be hosted in India.

this year CLT20 has to be the worst one of all. SLPL had better crowds, better cricket, better competition and fewer washouts! Also, there was a lot of hype about the tournament among pakistanis and BDish, you guys know why :D Even the Indian people are not interested towards CLT20. The tournament couldve been more attractive had their been better crowds and close matches

Lets me add to that, if clt20 gets at least 2 bangla teams and is being played in Asia, then i see this as a successful tournament!

Stop appeasing the Indian TV market so much!! The days games were hardly effected. This was also a problem during the World T20s, where India played ALL it's matches in the evening!, where toss and weather become crucial during these silly seasons. And eventually got screwed in one of them against Australia.

Champions from Ind, SA , Aus, SL, Pak, NZ and WI get direct entry. So do the runners up of Ind, Sa and Aus. Thats 10 teams. Then there is a qualifier where runners up from SL, Pak, NZ and WI along with 3rd placed teams of Ind and Aus play. 2 out of the 6 qualify. Then we have 12 teams, 4 groups of 3 each. 2 teams qualify from each group for QFs. Then we have remaining knockouts.

The organizers got greedy with no proper long term planning. For the first fiver years they should have kept it simple. Only the winners of their respective country's national T20 competition should have been allowed. i.e. 8 teams, 1 each from Ind, Aus, SA, Pak, Eng, WI, NZ, and SL, split into two groups. Get the tourney done dusted within 10 days. Then gauging on the success, expand to maybe 12 teams including more IPL teams (for commercial reasons). But the BCCI-CA-CSA nexus got greedy too quickly, eventually this will just turn into IPL II. Though for future editions I would still prefer it stays in SA, purely for the contrast in playing conditions it provides compared to in India (which we have the IPL anyways for)

This farce should be cancelled...Waste of FTP space.....But of course' date='ICC doesn't have a spine to stand up against BCCI (:hitler:)[/quote'] Yeah..they (ICC) don't. We are the bad guys... deal-with-it-gandolf.gif

Yeah...The cricket world has to deal with it... and suffer for it. But enjoy while it lasts,Indians...Because when Sanga retires, joins administration and becomes the president of the ICC,he'll abolish the BCCI's supremacy, restore the balance and bring justice to the cricket world.....:yay: :yay: :yay:

CLT20 itself is like a gift to T20 teams from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, West Indies because participation alone guarantees them 500,000 dollars, the likes of which they must have never seen in their lives. Further progression adds 200,000 dollars to their kitty and ending up runner up gets them 1.5 million and a win ensures 2.5 million. And where do you think all this money comes from ? The big bad BCCI of course and from the pockets of Indians. Other teams should be thankful for this generosity and not whining about it and demanding more. If CLT20 goes away, Sri Lankans, Bangladeshis and Pakis will only have to play their own leagues to win peanuts and a refrigerator as prize money. Also the league has 4 IPL teams because they are popular and more people tune in to watch them, especially in India which has a massive tv audience.

only 1 team from either pakistan and SL play, and none from Bangladesh. So only a handful of teams qualify for it. On the other hand ofcourse, this does increase the competition level in SLPL and pakistan t20 as they know that winning the tournament not only gives them a trophy and some money, but a lot more money and another opp. to play in a big league.

Adding more teams from SL, Pak, West Indies, England in the main draw will only make it longer and boring. There is a qualifying round in place which ensures two teams from the non partner countries which is fair enough. SL, Pak, WI, Eng, NZ are getting a profit from a partnership which they have no investment in. They are putting no money in and getting 500,000 dollars for their team participation alone. That's a good deal, however you look at it. You cant expect more.

You idea of fairness is highly amusing..:hysterical: Don't see any point arguing with a guy who calls this disgraceful format "fair enough" and judges everything with monetary value. You'll make one hell of a politician ,bro....
