ESPN already have Dermot Reeve as an expert, Shane Warne is also going to be there for the neutral perspective, am sure if Nasser/Bumble are not traveling to India, Star will pick someone else from England in their place. Yes the new guys coming in may not be of the same quality and it will be a loss, but then I do not see anything wrong in BCCI asking for the amount of money that they are from Sky. Just because those services have been available at lower costs so far, doesn't mean the costs will not go up

And whatever Bumble n gang say from India they can very well say from England. So it's not like ur 'neutral voices' are completely silenced.

I never said there should be Sky commentators. However, since Sky Sports broadcasts all of English cricket I am forced to believe that they probably are in a better position with their commentary than others. In addition, I feel it is good to have England commentators during the game along with Indians apart from studio analysis. Also, I disagree that all English commentators are racist - they are not. There are some pretty good guys there - why do we have to ape the English in their acerbic tones?

They try to screw it out of $80,000 to broadcast from the ground. They already had a contract to broadcast and they always commentate from the ground. However, the evidently cashstrapped BCCI invoked some new rules and wanted the sum for the facilities. We personally I say f*** them. Rant over They dont have a contract with BCCI who have production rights.They have sub rights from Star Cricket to get the standard feed.Nothing else.

The BBC rights department never comments publicly about financial issues, but a deal is understood to be imminent that will allow TMSÃÔ Jon Agnew, Henry Blofeld, Geoffrey Boycott and their colleagues to broadcast on the four Tests in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kolkata and Nagpur. The BBC had been surprised to be asked for $80,000 (Ž£50,000) for broadcasting facilities which they had considered to be included as part of their original contract, and were initially reluctant to pay. The credibility of TMS, however, depends on broadcasting live from the ground. A compromise has therefore been necessary to allow the programme to go ahead. Sky, on the other hand, received a demand for $800,000 - almost half a million pounds - for broadcasting facilities from the Board of Control for Cricket in India and have refused to pay. Whereas the TMS commentators need little more than a room at the ground and some phone lines, television commentators and other staff need far more dedicated space - some 2,000 square feet - in which to operate. Sky have consistently refused to pay this extra fee, fearing it would become a slippery slope as one demand led to another. Although just over a fortnight remains before the first Test begins in Ahmedabad on November 15, the opportunity for negotiation and compromise has almost expired. The time necessary to set up a room at a ground for radio commentary - an open area in a stand has served in the past for TMS - and to install the phone lines is only a few days in normal circumstances, but those that apply in India with all the regulations cannot be considered normal. And for a television studio to be set up at the grounds in India for Sky, with all the equipment like cameras and lighting, would take considerably longer, not to mention the organisation of hotels, visas and travel arrangements for their team of commentators led by Sir Ian Botham and David Gower. If Star cricket decides not to sign a contract with ECB and demands all facilities without paying, then what would you suggest if you were ECB chairman?
