You are overestimating the DRS in its current form. Even with DRS, we probably still would have had a few howlers because we would have ran thro' our quota within the 1st few overs.

To save himself from the embarrassment he's been totally against it. For DRS to come, he and few other senior players need to leave the scene, at least from Test cricket.

Also, almost every decision given by umpires tend to stand when its referred, especially lbws. Best thing is to improve quality of umpiring. But because BCCI is against DRS and there is lot of propaganda in English media, everyone wants DRS.

The on-field howlers are eliminated but thanks to the complicated DRS process the off-field howlers are introduced. Not to mention, the marginal stupid calls which look good on Predictive Path are not correct.

But our stars dont like it for many reasons: 1) Once bitten twice shy syndrome: Horrible experience at Lanka several years back the first time we tried it. 2) Human error suits reputed players: If you go by history, human errors work in favor of reputed players more often than not. So it suits the stars better. 3) BoD is eliminated: Hawk eye eliminates a lot of the benefit-of-doubt advantages batsmen enjoy (and in our team, batsmen have a bigger lobby than bowlers), so that plays a big role as well. The "When/How to use it ?" issue mainly arises when we are batting. There are certain players who immediately call for DRS when they are out, because they think their wicket is way too valuable. Sehwag and Tendulkar fall in this category. Their mindset will not change and everyone in the dressing room is almost too afraid to challenge them. This wrinkle aside, DRS is a big boon to our average bowling attack, because our bowling is simply not resilient enough to bounce back from one or two major umpiring errors (we almost squandered the Ahmedabad test) We need all the advantage we can get. That said, BCCI will not accept DRS until SRT retires!

Umpires are bias against us, so we need drs more then anyone:--D What happened to umpires? They were so reluctant in giving LBWs in the match. At times it seemed like appealing was waste of time.

Imagine if Cook and Prior had carried on on the 5th day and saved the match. I think Dhoni's gonna wake up when something similar happens.
