Actually it's BCCI's decision not to have DRS that's found out. Umpires will not give even plumb LBWs and all the batsman needs to do is to take a decent stride against spinners and LBW is out of the question. Secondly going back to Harbhajan was as poor a decision as there is in terms of selection. Going back to a has been when he hasn't done anything of note is shocking and I don't have much faith in the new selection panel anymore. They could have gone with Harmeet Singh from u-19s as he was the one player who looked ready for intl cricket and they went with a bowler who hasn't done javk shyte to earn a recall. I don't yhink spin attack has been found out, there were plenty of edges/chances/poor umpiring decisions that just didn't carry. But main worry is the lack good turn from India spinners compared to the purchase Swann and Panesar were getting out of the wicket.

Ojha and Ashwin bowled well. You have to give the English batsmen credit, especially Cook. He played with good temperament, showed good defense and also attacked occasionally. On Indian tracks sometimes the ball stops doing a lot and becomes better for batting. A partnership is bound to form and bowlers need to be patient in those passages. But the good thing is if one wicket falls, others will follow because the new batsmen needs time to adjust to the turn and bounce. Harbhajan never looked like getting a wicket though. He seems to have lost a lot of confidence and couldnt put constant pressure on the batsmen. This may be his last test if he cant get wickets tomorrow.

Even domestic batsmen in Ranji trophy played him very easily. He barely picked any wickets there. So I dont understand how he got back into the test team. It happens only in India.

Though Dhoni's hand might have been pushed by Yadav's injury, don't know what three spinners would do, also Ashwin needs to learn some lessons here, try to turn the ball more and ball to a plan not try too many variations and let go of the pressure, Dhoni to me is past his sell by date since a year now as captain and player in test, Ishant should be in the team, Harbhajan did not deserve a call back to the team, rather have R Sharma . India will win this game and series but what did they achieve, playing on rank turners, boring cricket, one seamer in the team, spinners opening the bowling, what a farce, Dhoni needs to go, this way cricket is going back to the days when India were minnows and could only draw or loose games, how will they do well outside touring next year. Its a bunch of mediocre bowlers - the fact that the Dart-thrower is back is a sad indictment shows the spin cupboard is bare. They don't know how to create pressure, set up batsmen or when to go for the kill. Contrast that with how the Pak bowlers hunted as a pack against Eng in UAE - there was no let up in pressure and Eng were strangled to death.
