Just found out even muruli Vijay is with Rhiti sports:hysterical::hysterical:

We remember those free cricket bats that used to come free with the Health Drink, Milo, which encouraged children to take to sport. Cricket has taken its own time to grow in India. It is a cluster of criterions that make a sport famous and not just good marketing and endorsements. Cricket over the years has become a favorite among the Indian audience. Today Cricket is well known even in the rural areas of India, places where even education is not well spread! The efforts of the versatile players are rewarded by high pay. On the other hand while India was a leading country in hockey, the players did not get this kind of attention and service, as India was not in a very good shape economically, in that era. Hockey lost out on these goodies. By the time the concept of branding and endorsements came into India, hockey had lost its ground. In the last decade, there have been many sports apart from cricket that that became popular in the Indian Sub-Continent like, tennis, badminton, shooting, and chess etc. Sania Mirza held one of the top positions in the world for tennis. Abhinav Bindra shooting legend, ranked one of the best in the world. Saina Nehwal has been in the world ranking for badminton list for a couple of years. Vishwanathan Anand, the chess ace, who has won 5 championships and is the unbeatable champion since 2007. All these individual players have contributed to India's fame. Sania Mirza and Saina Nehwal have appeared in Indian advertisements like Sprite and Fortunel. Abhinav Bhindra and Saina Nehwal became the brand ambassadors of Common Wealth Games 2010. Viswanathan Anand became the brand ambassador of True Value Homes (TVH group of companies). Abhinav Bindra's brand is endorsed by Professional Management Group which also endorses Virendra Sehwag. "At one point Indian cricketers also had a place in the fashion industry. It was ridiculed by the public, but it is a part of branding. For instance, many cricketers are in a way trend setters. Virat Kohli for an instance sports new hairdos at various events. Even famous fashion designers choose them for their fashion weeks. But, other sports do not enjoy this attention, because endorsement companies invest in people whose endorsements catapults the Brand in a different league. Cricket has a Pan India following bordering on obsession and thus, it attracts good marketing." says my friend Priti. Saina Nehwal signed a deal of 40cr with Rhiti sports and will continue to endorse products along with Dhoni and Murali Vijay who have also been signed by Rhiti Sports. With this deal Saina has not only become the highest paid Indian sportsperson who does not play cricket, but has also become one of the world's well paid badminton players. This trend is expected to catch on with the coming into prominence of individual sports in India and individual excellence has always been the hallmark of the Indian Psyche as opposed to group excellence. With spread of education and wider dispersal of opportunities and access to sports infrastructure, which is developing all across India, I would expect that in course of time, other sports apart from cricket would also get their due in the sport landscape of India.

Kumble on his sports mgmt company Tenvic & asked if he has a conflict of interest " fiirst of all, it casts aspersions on the workings of the national selection committee, then it questions the performance of the players in question who earned their spot in the team and it doubts my integrity."

Gopichand's case is a precedent if someone like Tiwary wants to file a case against MSD & Srini

High Court raps Gopichand êtÃÔ ethically wrong for chief coach to run a private academy Observing that ÅÆthically it was wrong for the Badminton Authority of IndiaÃÔ (BAI) chief national coach and selection panel head Pullela Gopichand to run a private training academy, the Bombay High Court on Monday said it was not in the best interest of justice. Ŧthically, coach who also heads the selection panel should not run a private academy. He may be a good coach. We are not saying otherwise. But in the interest of justice and fairness, a national coach, also part of the selection panel, should not run a private camp, Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Justice A V Mohta said. The court observed this while hearing a petition filed by 19-year-old Prajakta Sawant, who had alleged mental harassment by Gopichand after she was refused entry to the national coaching camp in Hyderabad. Directing the petitioner to include BAI as respondent in the petition, the bench sought the authorityÃÔ reply with regard to GopichandÃÔ private academy. The matter will be heard next on December 19. During the last hearing on November 6, the court had directed BAI to allow the girl to participate in the camp. SawantÃÔ lawyer Piyush Shah told the court that when she went to the camp on November 17 the players had already left for China for a tournament. Shah also said that there was another camp in January. The bench then directed BAI to allow the girl to participate in the second camp. Å£AI shall not take any action averse to the petitioner on the ground that she did not participate in the Hyderabad camp, the court said. Sawant, a first year Bachelor of Commerce student, stated in her petition that she was selected for the training camp from October 4 to December 12. However, she contended that she had asked for her doubles and mixed doubles partners to be changed and Gopichand had hence, nursed a grudge against her. Űn August 22, 2012, the petitioner (Sawant) had informed by e-mail to Gopichand that the petitioner is not comfortable playing with the mixed doubles and womenÃÔ doubles partners. However, Gopichand made wild allegations against the petitioner that she was not serious about badminton, SawantÃÔ petition stated. Gopichand, SawantÃÔ petition mentioned, had informed her telephonically before the camp began that she will not be allowed to participate in the camp.

Also rhiti sports handles sponserships of CSK

NEW DELHI: Aircel has signed the most expensive sponsorship deal in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with Chennai Super Kings, even as top IPL teams rode the euphoria over India's World Cup victory to almost double their revenues this season. The telecom service provider has paid more than 85 crore to renew its sponsorship contract with the Chennai teamÃÃed by Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh DhoniÃÇor three years, two officials close to the development said. "The deal is biggest so far and most expensive by any sponsor across all the 10 IPL teams," one of the officials said. Dhoni endorses the Aircel brand. Clearly, the telecom service provider wants to make the most out of its association with the most expensive cricketer who led India to World Cup glory after 28 years. An Aircel spokeswoman refused to comment on the development while Rhiti Sports Management promoter Arun Pandey, who manages all Dhoni's endorsements and brand associations , said, "This is a record deal." The deal beats two-wheeler maker Hero Honda's estimated 75-crore deal to sponsor Sachin Tendulkar-led Mumbai Indians for three years. Hero Honda, till last year, had been sponsoring Delhi Daredevils, which is led by Virender Sehwag. All the three teams have almost doubled their sponsorship earnings this season to around 50 crore as India's super show in the World Cup has marketers queuing up to associate with IPL teams led by top Indian players. Brands Paying 30% More This Season "This year, our sponsorship revenues (for Chennai Super Kings) have gone much above Rs 50 crore," said Rhiti Sports' Pandey. He said the revenues will increase in the coming years because some of the sponsorship deals are incremental, where the payment goes up every year. Chennai Super Kings' total sponsorship earnings were Rs 27 crore last season .Rakesh Singh, marketing head of India Cements that owns CSK, said most deals were finalised before India's World Cup win. "We got a lot of queries from brands wanting to associate with the team after the World Cup, but we had already closed our deals by then," he said. "We had set a minimum benchmark figure for brands to pick up team sponsorship . The team has done very well and it is the defending champion," Singh added. Besides Aircel, the Chennai team has two other large sponsors: lubricants maker Gulf Oil and real estate firm Amrapali. Other sponsors and partners of the team include PepsiCo, TI Cycles and Amity. Mukesh Ambani's Mumbai Indians and GMR Group's Delhi Daredevils, too, have mopped up revenues in the region of Rs 50 crore, a couple of team officials said on condition of anonymity. Top teams such as Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils have commanded an average of Rs 25 crore a year for the lead sponsorship slot, and Rs 4-10 crore for associate sponsorship slots. In general, brands have paid 30% more, and in some cases double, to associate with IPL teams this season, a person familiar with the deals said. Mumbai Indians' sponsors for this season include lead Hero Honda, Master Card, tyre maker Bridgestone and Loop Mobile. And its partners include Adidas, Kingfisher, Royal Stag, Orbit, Boomer, Air India and MSN. Delhi Daredevils' sponsors include financial services firm Muthoot Finance, Kingfisher, Idea Cellular, beverage maker Coca-Cola and electronics firm Panasonic . Vijay Mallya's Royal Challengers, Shahrukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders and Lachlan Murdoch-owned Rajasthan Royals, too, have got new sponsors this season. The IPL organisers have this year allowed teams to sport different sponsors' logos for home and away matches. So, local companies can sponsor teams in the area of their operation. A recent study by brand valuation consultancy Brand Finance estimated Chennai Super Kings' brand value at $55.37 million this year, second to Mumbai Indians' $57.13 million. Last year, CSKwas ranked the highest in brand value among all IPL teams.

We really need a complete shake up of Indian cricket administration and need to change some laws so as to prohibit current players/BCCI office bearers from owning/having a stake in any such players management firms.
