Eden curator slams Dhoni

Sooda, I have made this point earlier as well but CG refuses to take it. Dhoni has played just 2 matches in his entire captain career on proper turning tracks! CG - In good faith, there has to be a limit in the tirade directed at "one person" whoever that is - Ganguly, Dhoni or Tendulkar. It is a team game and it is high time you understand that our spin bowlers did not bowl well. Look up the speeds and the pitch maps. Also, you should go both ways - high praise as well was tirade but unfortunately, that's your way. I am just pointing out the anomaly - you can choose to continue. Amidst the "good record" claims people should take note that we have failed to beat South Africa at home (twice) with one series requiring a rank turner in Kanpur 2008 (pitch receiving a warning) while the other was a victory achieved with 10 balls remaining in a Test match. We barely scraped against New Zealand in 2010. Even against Australia 2010, if India did not have any luck it would be a draw at the max and who knows what would've happened in Bangalore (if we lost at Mohali). The home record we talk about is hardly about beating top sides but rather holding on to drawn series and winning against Ranji teams like Sri Lanka and good (but ineffective) sides like West Indies. Over all these 3-4 years we are barely clutching on to this so called "record".
True that.

Its sports what do you expect us to roll over teams in 3-4 days? We have been twice in a situation against sa where we were trailing and we needed and turning track once in kanpur and once in eden gardens which was not a rank turner like kanpur. If dhoni wanted turning tracks seriously like he is now he should have got them. We have twice beaten australia once england once pakistan twice srilanka drawn with southafrica twice and beaten them once. What are u on about.

No - I expect to win with 10 balls remaining or 1 wicket remaining or a rank turner. Stop turning the argument into extremities will you? Get over the Dhoni tirade CG - excess of anything in life is bad. Your criticism regarding Dhoni's non-performance or setting overtly defensive fields are valid & accepted. However, conspiracy theories including Rhiti sports management, pitches required only look jaundiced. Dhoni has been asking for turning pitches since last year - Did he get it in Ahmedabad? If he had the control, he should have got it by your theory.

It sounds perfectly normal as you put it - go more deeper and check how we won those series & you would know the problem. When did we beat South Africa 2006? In that regard we should consider Australia 2001, West Indies 2002 as well.

Rhiti sports management i have told the facts if Kaptan kool supporters do not like it then as you wish. Ahmedabad was a new wicket ,They did there best but it was slow and it did spin even though it was slow. They might have left grass like they did against sa but they did not. The removal of curator clearly shows who is in control.

CG - Simple fact when you state a theory everything must conform to it else it is not a theory it becomes a conspiracy. If I say that a cricket ball is round in shape, it is round no matter where you play in the world. IF your Rhiti sports management theory is TRUE, Raina RP Singh et al should have also been in the team. They are not which means you're theory is selective and you are making data from theories rather than theories from data. It is same for Ahmedabad - if Dhoni gets what he wants he should have got a spinning wicket "come what may". He did nit - what do you mean by tried best? It's not like you were in Ahmedabad or part of the pitch management committee ! Once again data from theory rather than the other way round. Finally, lets stop calling each other names - that road leads to more unpleasant experiences than good ones and I rather agree to disagree. I'm not going to reply beyond this post.

You are welcome to come to your conclusions. But i think a captain who is in jv with a company which manages certain players is not right. regarding rp singh he was flown from a holiday in us to england in 2011 and was unfit and did not have a good doemstic performance to earn a recall.still was persisted in odis after his horrible show. When did i call you names do you not support dhoni?

I agree with the highlighted point - it is ethically unfair. However, the correct way is to clear the JV not purport conspiracy theories on the selections due to the JV. For your question - No, I do not support Dhoni. But, it is one thing not to support him and totally another thing to blame everything wrong in the ecosystem to Dhoni. If you are considering this Test match, there were other major issues which will not be resolved if Dhoni leaves. Familiarity breeds contempt as they say.

Yaar even a part albeit a small part of me also supports dhoni .I even backed him after the england debacle but afterthat it has been downhill and he is still captain.

The timing may be wrong but this curator deserved to be sacked right after that ODI vs SA in 2005 when he prepared a grassy track to ensure India hand over the advantage to SA just because Dravid was leading the side and Dada was not in the side. BTW those of you slamming the decision, do you remember the sentiments on the forum after he had refused to prepare a turning a track at Eden when we had been humiliated by SA at Ahmedabad in 2010, were trailing 1-0 and would have lost our no 1 rank had we lost at Eden?

^ Maybe but in the present circumstance Dhobi is too much concerned about pitches and not about own and teams performances. Not focused at all to do well but hoping to get a docile pitch (I'm pretty sure he doesn't even wants spinning pitch now) to paper over the shortcomings and tide over this crisis...

All speculations. Yes the team was complacent and probably thought they had won the battle moment they got a turning track. I would back them to come back stronger. Remember before the series the general consensus was we need 4 turning tracks each vs Eng and Aus. Lets not be so fickle after one loss, spinning track is still our best chance of winning the last 2 tests. We may win even on flat pattas where reverse swing comes into play on day 4 and 5, but why kill your bowlers on such pattas when you are playing back to back tests and especially with nearly every pacer in the country injured right now.
