CG Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Calcutta: Despite a 10-wicket drubbing at the hands of England, on a rank turner at the Wankhede, India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni remains firm on his demand for a spinner-friendly track at the Eden, which will host the third Test of the series, from December 5. But Eden curator Prabir Mukherjee has reacted sharply to DhoniÃÔ wicket-wish. ŪtÃÔ most unethical if the India captain makes such statements in public... HeÃÔ passing such comments every now and then, which is really unfortunate, Mukherjee said on Monday. He went on to explain why the Eden wicket cannot be like the Wankhede, where the second Test got over in less than three-and-a-half days. Ūf you think logically, the two pitches at the Eden and the Wankhede can never be the same First of all, red soil is used in Mumbai while itÃÔ black soil here in Calcutta. Secondly, the climatic and weather conditions of the two places are not the same at all... So how can one expect wickets of two different cities to be the same? the 83-year-old questioned. Earlier in the day, Dhoni, speaking at the post-match media conference in Mumbai, had categorically mentioned about the kind of wicket he wants at the Eden. Űf course, we want a similar track (to that of Wankhede) as thatÃÔ where our speciality is WhatÃÔ the point in playing on flat tracks, trying to win the toss and just bat for three or four days!" http://cricket.yahoo.com/news/eden-curator-slams-dhoni-045004367.html Ab to curator bhi kaptain kool ke le rahe hain.:cantstop:
Rohit S. Ambani Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Dhoni should pack Wankhede pitch and take away with him every place he go to play.
vvvslaxman Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Dhoni is making a fool of himself nowadays . You cannot alter the fundamental nature of pitch overnight. When you do it can backfire. There is no guarantee our batsmen are going to do well on any surface except patta tracks.
Magneto Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Dhoni and the Eden curator has been slamming each other for a long time now. :fight: :hysterical:
Rohit S. Ambani Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Dhoni should build his own stadium in Ranchi named 'Keh Ke Lunga' and prepare whatever type of pitch he wants!

NareshK Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Dhoni is talking too much to the press these days. There was no need to publicly tell that he needs turning pitches. This stuff will only add pressure to him and the team because media guys have no other job other than to create some story. They got nothing to lose. What happened to the days when he used to answer the press in the most diplomatic manner as possible and get on with the game which is what really matters ? Concentrate on your game and stay out of these controversies, Mr. Dhoni.
namasteji1 Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Rofl, that's nice of the curator to give his piece of mind. Dhoni should keep silent now.
rkt.india Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Different wickets, difefrent conditions make cricket intresting and one cannot typecast like what Dhonis wants to do by asking for Mumbai like turners everywhere. Dhoni;s end looks like Saurav Ganguly part2 as he too faced pitch fiasco before losing captaincy.
Trichromatic Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Dhoni should build his own stadium in Ranchi named 'Keh Ke Lunga' and prepare whatever type of pitch he wants! :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: or just shift matches to his fav Mecon stadium. :giggle: He should shut and prepare for matches instead of worrying about preparation of pitches.
