Rohit S. Ambani Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 My vote goes for Ponting, He was class in slips, close in, in circle. In running opposition batsmen out, only guys like Gibbs, Jonty, ABDV, Clarke, Symmonds, Collingwood, Yuvi can match him. But these guys were not so good in slips where like's of Waugh, Dravid, Azharuddin are best. Mention your best 'overall' fielder who can field at any position and had accurate/powerful arm to run batsmen out.
vamos_rafa Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Ponting and Collingwood. They both were good at almost all positions along with slips.
Old guy Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 gibbs was pretty good... but most complete has to be collingwood :P
Lord Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 gibbs was pretty good... but most complete has to be collingwood :P have seen him drop dollies.not too sure he was great in slips

Lord Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 i remember dilshan had 2-3 runs outs in one innings in australia.. im not sure whether it was just him or whole team :cantstop: Dilshan is very good for subcontinent standards, but not overall imo
Old guy Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Dilshan is very good for subcontinent standards' date='but not overall imo[/quote'] but subcontinent sides other then pakistan are not that bad now a days
Lord Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 but subcontinent sides other then pakistan are not that bad now a days they are.we are carrying 3-4 pot bellys on regular basis.BD are okay. SL guys are decent at best(bar Jonty Malinga:giggle:)but overall athleticism is not on same level.our guys like to eat a lot n excercise less
Raghav_12 Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 I think Ponting has very strong claim for the title OP has mentioned. He was good in field in all positions. He may not have looked that spectacular many times as did some other fielders, but he was always reliable and with a very accurate throwing arm.
SLICKR392 Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Ponting, Faf, Raina, Jhonty. Jhonty was fast, fit and the best!!
Number Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Jonty, Ponting, Collingwood. Have a look at the catch from @1:20 by Kaif, the best indian fielder. O8yIn11L2w0
