India-KXIP fan
Personally I think Kohli would make a good captain. He has potential to be a good test player but is yet to deliver and until then cannot be made captain. Dhoni should be in the team but not captain. Zaheer is not guaranteed to play every game or for long enough. Sehwag is one option. Too early in the careers of players like Pujara. Gambhir I personally think has been found out and not good enough as a test player. Link to comment

India-KXIP fan
The one and only Harbhajan "Legend Killer" Singh. Yes! haha His leadership has done wonders for Punjab. But yeah either Sehwag or Kohli. Link to comment
mr cricket
No one yet. Gambhir and Sehwag are not consistent perfomers in test, and Kohli is still too young for captaincy, the pressure might be too much for him, he's already struggling in test. Link to comment
R.D forever
funny.. all those on the list should actually do well do be in the team first.. nobody in the 11 has a permanent place now if u consider form.. except maybe ohja :--D Link to comment
NareshK
Make Dravid the coach. Fletcher has failed to motivate the team. They just look like they are going through the motions when they are playing tests. Link to comment
Lord
anybody but MSD,cant get much worse. Link to comment
zep1706
Before removing MSD I would actually fire Fletcher considering nobody in the side is worthy of captaincy atm. We all know how MSD's records were before Fletcher. Link to comment
saneindian
MSD is going to remain there. When Gambhir looked like taking over, he lost his form, when Kohli came close, he too has lost form now. I don't see our selecotrs being bold enough in going for a younger captain in Kohli and can't see Gauti being made the captain. Link to comment
namasteji1
The whole side needs to be changed, and calling this is knee jerk reaction isn't right, because this needs to be done. Nothing has changed even after crap performances. Link to comment
vivek_singh3187
After Dhoni, the next "best" option comes is Sehwag...as 1) Kohli is still inexperienced for the Tests....though he can lead in T20's (given the perf of Dhoni in T20's). 2) Gambhir,Tendulkar doesn't gives much hope. 3) Zaheer is a frequent patient.... Rest...out of context right now Link to comment
Eternal Atma
Mahi. Can't see any other suitable person in the current 11 for various reasons. Maybe Tendulkar as stop gap. Link to comment
Number
Kohli or Pujara under a coach who is a hard task master like Chappell or Whatmore and takes authority and responsibility than backseat. That will lessen the pressure from Young captain. Put a few more youngsters in the team. As long as Dhoni-Fletcher continue nothing will change. Link to comment
Spiderguy252
Kohli, it will be a Graeme Smith like appointment. And we need a totally different type of coach too. Somebody like Wright or dare I say it....Chappell! These Gary Kirsten silent types are not working with the current XI. Link to comment

saneindian
For all of you talking of a young captain and Kohli being made the captain like Smith, a small stat. As a captain, in his first 3-4 years as captain, Smith only won series vs the likes of BD, WI and New Zealand. He lost to Pakistan, SL, India and Australia away from home, lost to England and Australia at home. After being appointed the captain in 2003, till 2006 his record read 15 series played, 6 won, 7 lost and 2 drawn. Not sure oif Kohli or any other young captain, if made the captain, will have the same support from our fans and our board with such a record. Link to comment
Trichromatic
I don't want to see Dhoni as captain, but I can't really think who should be our captain. Kohli has been struggling in test cricket. He was our best bet. But giving him captaincy might add more pressure on him. Gambhir - He should not be in the team. Forget captaincy. SRT - Nah Zak - He won't play most of the matches. Lazy, unfit. :headshake: Ashwin - No. Sehwag - His place is not in danger and he can play for another 4-5 years. Pujara - Not sure. He looks like only safe candidate. Yuvraj - Link to comment
