Unlike salwar kameez or skirt...it can't be torn of easily.It makes running much easier hence escaping .It is also easy to kick the bastard wearing jeans.

And I have to say that the Desi girls need to toughen up a bit too!!! need to carry weapons or need to know how to fight! Its should be mandatory to know some sort of defense to be alive in this country!

The change has to start at home and how sons are raised in our society.

In India as things stand that isn't there because there are several weaknesses in the system. Once a few people are punished and the message goes out there, the girl will feel more empowered herself and the men will think twice. Also, this needs to be taught to them in Schools from young ages and also through a wide communication programme that a woman is a equal and a no is a no. That way of looking at a woman needs to change. There is no need for Indian men to become Sadhu's all of a sudden. Just need to know their limits.
