urbestfriend Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Gangu dada will make a better coach than Fletcher, yet I don't want to see him as a coach because of his closeness to certain players , he'll be biased towards them in team selection..He can wait for now...
Sidhoni Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Ganguly will be great to have as coach right now. Only problem will be - Manoj Tiwari will bat at no.3 and Dinda will be the spearhead of the pace attack.
Pagalpanti Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Ganguly backs certain players but the other day he was ripping apart Dinda for bowling short and said he should watch Junaid bowl.
King Khan Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 I think Ganguly needs to have more experience on this career, but if he just can manage 1-2 year on it, his cricketing background and records will certainly attaract lot more teams outside India in future.
Tendulkar_Bhai Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Ganguly favourite to be new coach! Good News for Dada Fans. BCCI sechduled meeting on Jan 15 to discuss new coach and Ganguly is top contender ! http://srtgod.blogspot.in/2013/01/team-indias-new-coaches-dream-support.html As a joke i said Kapil Dev, Dravid, Laxman and Kumble would be good coaching the team..as it happens they are looking at doing exactly this!! B->
Tendulkar_Bhai Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Ganguly favourite!!! credible source! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/cricket/article-2256202/Sourav-Ganguly-set-India-coaching-job.html I dont think he will favour any players, he didnt as captain so why would he as coach? And there would be no issues of ego or power as the whole team is under performing so has no basis to be egotistic.
vamos_rafa Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Ummm' date=' let it go. [b']Can't share a few things here. If Sehwag and Ganguly seem to be friends on the basis of their heaping praises on each other, they must be friends. :good: A bit of hinting would do :--D
vandokkum Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Sourav ganguly as coach, this will definitely be entertaining to watch. But as far as results? Not so sure.
panesarv Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 no' date='he would be disaster.has big ego.dont want Tiwary as captain n Dinda to lead the pace attack[/quote'] +1
vandokkum Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 no' date='he would be disaster.has big ego.dont want Tiwary as captain n [b']Dinda to lead the pace attack :haha:
Magneto Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 A bit of hinting would do :--D I cannot mention 'dressing-room brawls' in public and anyway I wouldn't have evidence or a link to prove it here. :--D On topic, I'd been against Ganguly as coach for his big ego and all, but now seeing the lackadaisical attitude of the Indian players and their aversion to practice etc. I think they need one hard taskmaster and not someone who'll give them a false sense of security. If Ganguly can build a bit of work-ethic in this team and can make them perform under gunpoint, then he might be a good candidate. And the only way to handle the egos of the seniors is to drop them like hot potatoes.
NareshK Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Ganguly will be a disaster as a coach. Such an egomaniac, politician and likes being in spotlight. Expect more dark days ahead if he is picked.
CSK Fan Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Ganguly will be a disaster as a coach. Such an egomaniac' date=' politician and likes being in spotlight. Expect more dark days ahead if he is picked.[/quote'] In short he will be the perfect foil to the current BCCI. Our captain is a sell out, no one else can stop BCCI destroying India. Gangly might be just what we need.

Cricket Tragic Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Yeah, because Ganguly is the only who has acted as a pimp for a state mate and Dravid and Kumble have not.
Cevno Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 In short he will be the perfect foil to the current BCCI. Our captain is a sell out' date=' no one else can stop BCCI destroying India. Gangly might be just what we need.[/quote'] Yeah, he'll stand up to BCCI dodgy selections and other things. Has done so in the past as captain too. And that is why BCCI will probably not make him coach either.
saneindian Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Yeah' date=' [b']he'll stand up to BCCI dodgy selections and other things. Has done so in the past as captain too. And that is why BCCI will probably not make him coach either. Yeah like picking Dinesh Mongia over VVS for the 2003 WC, picking Yuvraj as a test opener in place of Akash Chopra, picking Deep Dasgupta as the Indian keeper in 2001 when he had a FC record which read 15 matches, 600 runs@27, sidelining Kumble completely from the ODI setup and even from away tests, continuing to bat at no 5 in tests ahead of VVS despite being in pathetic form for 2-3 years, ignoring Murali Kartik because he sledged him in a domestic match, ..and many similar examples. Ganguly during his days did things on his own like Dhoni is doing, some of those worked some didn't..those which worked have been hailed as masterstrokes, those which didn't work have largely been forgotten. Also remember like the Srini-Dhoni partnership now, during those days, Ganguly had the complete support of Dalmiya and did as he wished.
