saneindian
Someone who is about to retire will not be clapping and jumping with joy when his younger team mates were hitting 100s and 200s. Sachin is going no where. Don't be surprised to see him play a couple of months of county cricket. I do hope that he retires from IPl and CLT20 though Link to comment

rkt.india
but 9 months gap is too long.dont think he'll play FC this time If he wants to play and stay in form, he should play FC cricket before that tour like he did before this series. At this age, it is all the more essential for me to keep playing whatever level of cricket he wants to play to stay in touch. Ranji and Irani matches have certainly helped him in first test. He did not play much cricket before NZ and England series that showed in his batting. Link to comment

SLICKR392
No he won't. If he continues to bat in such way..he will take that flight to South Africa. In my opinion, he should retire if there is a Bangladesh series before the SA series. If not, then this should be his last one and I hope he ends in a high. Deserves a really good series. G_B_
Bird is the Word Bird out of India series with back injury The fast bowler Jackson Bird will not rejoin Australia's squad in India after scans in Melbourne confirmed he has a bone stress injury in his back. A likely recovery time will not be known until Bird has further tests but it is a worrying development for Australia in an Ashes year, given how well Bird's accurate seam-bowling style could translate to English conditions. Bird took 0 for 10 from 10 overs in the warm-up match against the Indian Board President's XI two weeks ago but was not picked for the first Test in Chennai. He flew home after the Test to have his back injury assessed and Australia's team doctor Peter Brukner said the results had shown a problem with his lower back. "Initial tests performed in Melbourne have confirmed that Jackson Bird has a bone stress injury of the low back," Brukner said. "He will undergo further tests tomorrow [Thursday]. He will not be re-joining the team in India." The loss of Bird leaves Australia with a 16-man squad ahead of the second Test, which starts in Hyderabad on Saturday. At this stage, the selectors have not decided on whether to send a replacement player to join the group, leaving Mitchell Johnson as the only extra fast bowler in the group besides those who played in the first Test. - See more at: http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-australia-2013/content/story/622840.html?CMP=chrome#sthash.plDaAvTZ.dpuf Link to comment
G_B_
The question we should be asking is, what odds on James Pattinson actually making it though this test series? On day 3 he started at about 150k and ended bowling at 132k Link to comment
carnish
He will score more than 80 runs including both the innings. Link to comment

carnish
Things were completely different then. India was on the top of the world in both test and ODI, Sachin was in the form of his life, he could do no wrong at that time. It's hard to walk away from that more so when you have done nothing in life except cricket. This could actually be true. India don't play at home for a long time and chances are high that we will struggle abroad again. This might be the perfect opportunity for Sachin to go out if we win this series. The only thing that could hold him back is that he will be just shy of 200 tests. But he quit ODIs with 49 tons so you never know. It's quite probable. I dont think its true. India might play against Bangladesh in August at home .. would be a great chance for Sachin to go on a high. Link to comment

Lord
actually if hes okay with it,it may not be a bad idea to send him on A tour to SA in July.would help both him n players playing with him Link to comment
carnish
may not be Tests Why not ... they were talking about a full tour and it means test. Plus Bangladesh have already played ODIs in India and hence first tour to India means it should be a test series. Link to comment
