maniac Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 few months or a year back I would have said Jaddu but boy he seems like a world-beater compared to some players playing in their respective sides currently Richard Levy Jade Dernbach Jimmy Nesham guy looks like a poor cricketer too...haven't seem him field though Johnson Charles Andre Rusell(Still think there is little potential there) Sohail Tanvir Steve Smith Anyother names come to mind? I beleive in Ishant and Rohit still though so please :nono:
maniac Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 Woakes is another guy I forgot....one more in the long list of mediocre LOI players England have produced in the league of Irani and Yardy
maniac Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 How can I forget Moises Henriques...don't see the point of this guy. Also Awana....pathetic fielder..nowhere close to international standards and haven't seen anything in his bowling
kubrickian Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 WTH ? Its not as if there were no mediocre players in teams before. Only Aus team in the past had all great players.
game_changerr Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Woakes is another guy I forgot....one more in the long list of mediocre LOI players England have produced in the league of Irani and Yardy woakes:omg:.....he dismissed kohli and dhoni(not given though),,,,bowled good though,,,,too early to labell him mediocre
maniac Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 WTH ? Its not as if there were no mediocre players in teams before. Only Aus team in the past had all great players. Yeah but apart from South Africa ,none of the teams look settled. India,Aus,Nzl,SL,WI,Eng(in LOI's) are all churning out as many debutants as possible to see what works best...unfortunately in the process, coming up with a lot of filth
maniac Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 woakes:omg:.....he dismissed kohli and dhoni(not given though)' date=',,,bowled good though,,,,too early to labell him mediocre[/quote'] He had no clue when batsmen were attacking him in the later overs....His pace and one dimensional bowling reminded me of Vinay Kumar and Vinny is a better bowler than him and that's not saying a lot
game_changerr Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 He had no clue when batsmen were attacking him in the later overs. thats inexperience,,,,,,even finn looked clueless at the end
the don Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Most of the guys in the list have better records than ishanth sharma plus i would add Sir ashok dinda and isuru udana. As for the most substandard benchwarmers, imran farhat owns one and all:((
game_changerr Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 aiyaz cheema too.....cant understand how he managed to play so many matches,,,,pak fans ,plz throw some light
the don Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 aiyaz cheema too.....cant understand how he managed to play so many matches' date=',,,pak fans ,plz throw some light[/quote'] lol, the guy never ever played a single match on a remotely helpful track , yet has a more than decent record , did well against england and srilanka , not a fan of his bowling but even at 34 years of age he is better than ishanth, dinda and company, no jokes.
game_changerr Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 lol' date=' the guy never ever played a single match on a remotely helpful track , yet has a more than decent record , did well against england and srilanka , not a fan of his bowling but even at 34 years of age he is better than ishanth, dinda and company, no jokes.[/quote'] yaar ,i am not comparing him with indian bowlers,,,i want to say that there must be many better bowlers than him in pakistan domestic circuit(knowing ur bowling riches) when he was playing in nationl team....
the don Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 yaar ' date='i am not comparing him with indian bowlers,,,i want to say that there must be many better bowlers than him in pakistan domestic circuit(knowing ur bowling riches) when he was playing in nationl team....[/quote'] well they were trying different bowlers after the cheats were caught in england , cheema got the nod due to his experience in domestic cricket .
Serani Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Andre Russell has flayed India around a few times, nowhere near substandard. Infact I would say he has great potential.
CSK Fan Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 NOHIT SHARMA Man I just saw Rohit's "O" face. Whats seen cannot be un-seen :nervous:
maniac Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 I knew people would bring up Rohit here...there is a different between flopping in international cricket and not being fit to play the game at this level. Greame Hick might not have had a great international career either but no way one would call him substandard...Raina and Yuvraj look ordinary in Test cricket doesn't mean they don't look anywhere near international material. Rohit has had a bad patch and his temperament has been shaky but nio way i would call him a substandard player.
maniac Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 Andre Russell has flayed India around a few times' date=' nowhere near substandard. Infact I would say he has great potential.[/quote'] As I said there is some potential there...I mean Jadeja might not be the best player around but he is ok for what it's woth...Ruseell's bowling looks P*** poor but has little ability with the bat there but bat's too low down the order even below Sammy but at this point don't rate him at all.

Infact I would say he has great potential.[/quote'] So has Ricardo Powell - doesn't make him a good cricketer. That said, I don't believe Andre is a sub-standard cricketer but your reasoning seems flawed.
