Rohit is far better player than both Tiwary and Rahane and is match winner, has won matches for the team. What he lacks is consistency and even with half consistent has not done any less than Rahane or Tiwary. The 100 of Tiwary you are talking about, Rohit was man of the series then.

^ Being unfair to Tiwary here. He doesn't look that great but whenever he got easy conditions to bat in he made that count. In WI he could've done better but he did well on every occasion afterwards. Rahane is not grabbing those opportunities and seems low in confidence.

I seriously hope, that if Rohit has to play as an opener then, Gambhir is dropped and Rahane gets his chances. Dhoni has said that Rahane deserves a long rope and I hope he stays true to his word.

playing finn well does not means he was not making same mistake near 50 he was doing his usual shyte and 8 out of 10 times he fails in such situations he puts himself in

Tiwary and Rahane combined have played a grand total of 24 ODI's. Tiwary has played just 8 of them and has done reasonably well in the chances he has received. He averages 36 with the bat. We have to remember that Tiwary has hardly played 3 games together for India. He will play one game and have a break and then come back suddenly and play another, so it is difficult for a player to be consistent if they aren't given a consistent run. Rahane is going through the same thing right now. The guy hardly gets 4-5 games together. He fails in couple of innings and he gets replaced. Now for the most important stat, Rohit played 14 games last year for a absolutely stunning average of 13. Now tell me how did he even deserve to be in the squad. Even yesterday, I don't know how many of you even watched the game. When he was on 13 he tried his best to get out. There was a catch which was messed up by Pieterson at mid-off and then another one which dropped short of the fielder. If Pieterson had judged it better he would failed again. I will wait for 4-5 games and then agree that he has actually arrived. The guy has played 87 matches for gods sake. It is almost 4 times the games of Rahane+Tiwary combined and he averages 30 with the bat. He is extremely lucky to receive so much of backing. Rahane will be thinking what he has done wrong to receive this treatment. I guess Rahane and Tiwary are constantly playing with the fear that they might be dropped with couple of failure. Not a great mindset to approach an international game. In this scenario Rahane's fear turned out to be true. Can't believe the love Rohit enjoys throughout India, I haven't seen any player in the last 20 years to have received so many chances for being mediocre. There have been players who have had better careers but have been still dropped for few continuous failures. It is just that India are struggling for good batters which is the reason Rohit is getting so many games. I am sure he wouldn't get even close to Indian teams of the late 90's and early 2000's with this kind of record.
