Clarke Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I'm not talking about keeper batsman, plain old wicket keeping. Watched Wade quite a bit in the last few weeks and he seems outstanding. The dives & collections he made down the leg side when Starc gets erratic, Dhoni wouldn't bother with them. He's somewhat new to the scene having made test/odi debut last year. So who in your opinion is the best keeper currently (preferably plays tests) ? Prior ? Chandimal ? Watling ? someone else ? AB wasn't the first choice keeper ever, Dhoni isn't as good & Sarfraz seems new.
jairamesh Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Loins keeper Jayawardene is pretty good, only plays tests.

He didn't have a good summer with the gloves at all," Healy told Radio Sport National on Friday. "Even some of the basic stuff that he's not tidying up, he's not getting to the stumps, he's not taking returns well, he's not sharpening up the fielding effort. Even those basic disciplines weren't being created, let alone missed dismissals. "Nathan Lyon wouldn't have been that happy, there were four or five chances missed from his bowling. He's getting criticised for not taking wickets. These are all the little internal conflicts of an under-achieving wicketkeeper. Matthew Wade says he's still young and he wants to keep improving, but I don't think he's that young. He's 25. "If he is keeping for Australia, these sort of things have to be done, and they have to be done better. We're playing against Sri Lanka, it's not as if we're playing against South Africa or England for five Tests [where] we need everything taken. He needs to really get a look at what Brad Haddin is doing and try to find a way to get it done himself." http://www.espncricinfo.com/australia-v-sri-lanka-2012/content/story/600442.html I think P Jayawardene is the best along with Brad Haddin.
CG Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Kamran Akmal :hysterical::hysterical: What a idiot.
Sandeep99 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Has to be P.Jayawardane... And no mention of Prior?!!! He is the most sought after keeper after Gilchrist and Boucher... Great keeping and add excellent batting as well! (couldn't resist mentioning his batting!)
Vivek.S.123 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 :hysterical::hysterical: What a idiot. Sorry, just wanted to make some Pakis happy :hysterical:
Sean Bradley Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Not sure if many know here that Wriddhiman Saha is one heck of a wicket keeper. swift mover, sound keeping technique.
Bradman99 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Wade is an awful keeper, but a good batsman. He is the worst keeper Australia have had for a long time.
King Tendulkar Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Yeah thats a shocking call that some one said his glove work is best in world I also think jayawadarne I dont think india has anyone with exceptional glove work
King Tendulkar Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Keeping standards are down, as everyone looking for batters who keep then the other way round. Some greats from past Alec Stewart, Dujon, Healy and Gilly
Clarke Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 Err, Wade's athleticism brought up the question in my mind. I didn't announce he's the best WK in the world.

Clarke Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 Yeah, I saw a few outstanding takes from him like the one below and missed his keeping up to the stumps. Its not like I announced "Matthew Wade is class!!! as the title of the thread as some retard would have done so. If you cant handle people questioning your opinions without your toys flying out of the pram, you should not be on a cricket message board.

I said he "seems" outstanding based on my limited viewing and I guess I can be wrong. Won't be the first time for either ICFer. That does not mean I have taken an oath of Wade being a wicket keeping legend. That's the territory of your kind, the disgusting big mouthed *****s who have gone about making moronic & absolute predictions and when called out, moaned about others hoping for India's loss so that you could be questioned about your predictions.
