^+1 Ambrose's average speed was 84-86 IIRC. (I have not see him much but I've read about it). Even in his peak form he rarely or rather never got close to that 150 mark.

what is wrong with Indian fans ,they are not considering 135 k bowlers as pacers?seems like standard is quite high.To be honest styne hardly bowls at 140 k, but he is no.1 for last 3 years.

Never said they are not quick but not express.

India over the past 10 years has produced good pace bowling talent. That's not the problem. Ishant Sharma, Irfan Pathan, Sreesanth, RP Singh, Nehra, Balaji all had great starts to their careers. The problem has been maintaining that form and keep doing well. They usually suffer too many injuries because of excess cricket and with that pace generally also goes down. Zaheer Khan bucked this trend and continued to do well. Umesh Yadav, Varun Aron are already injured. Again B Kumar, Shami look like good prospects but challenge lies in continuing to improve and keep away from injuries.

Kumble' date=' Kapil Dev, Srinath ARE legends. Harbhajan could have been a great bowler if he hadnt played too much T20 and just stuck to longer version.[/quote'] Name 1 indian bowler who have Under-25 Bowling Average in test cricket and thay had taken 100 Plus wickets

Pollock, Ambrose, Imran Khan, McGrath are not pace bowlers. It shows how little you know. They are mostly medium-fast bowlers, bowling around 135 kph on average. Kapil also bowled at the same pace most of his career but slowed down further towards the end because of age. You have also completely derailed this thread. Read the topic again.
I Can Show you video Imran khan bowling up to 145kph Average Kapil dev was Yard slower than Ambrose and Imran khan

You can't have a great test team without atleast one great bowler in your ranks. India should start paying test bowlers and keep them away from playing every god damn odi/ t20 and ipl match. Being a test bowler is different than bowling 4 or 10 overs a match, I am sure BCCI can afford to hand pick some bowlers and pay them to be test specialists.

Now if you have to compare, Kapil got 434 wickets - one of the highest wicket taker in the world and lot more than any Pak seamer. :winky: Wasim and Waqar seemed more potent because they were bowling in tandem unlike someone like Srinath(236) who never had decent support bowlers. He had potential to pick 100 more wickets. Zaheer Khan picked 295 wickets in tests. That's more wickets than any Pak seamer had picked after Ws. India had Bedi (266 wickets), Chandrasekhar(242), Prasanna(189), Venkat(156) who were legendary spinners. Kumble(619) is the 3rd highest wicket taker in tests of all time. Harbhajan(408) is another leading wicket taker and was among the best in the world. You cant even compare Pak spinners with those from India. Abdul Qadir(236) was your best spinner. Dont get hung up on averages and miss the big picture. Bowling is lot more than just averages. :winky: Clearly India had lot better spinners and good pacers as well. :two_thumbs_up:

From a neutral prospective, Kapil dev is probably the only bowler India ever had that could be classified as great. He ruined his stats quite a bit going for records.

Imran Tahir anyone ? :hysterical:
