Sachin_Rulez Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Dravid retired gracefully unlike his predecessor. Worst thing that can happen to Indian cricket is giving captaincy back to Ganguly. Though he said he had no intentions of becoming captain again but I really doubt that. Given a chance, he'd put fevicol again on his back side and stick to that chair. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Rajiv Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Next Indian Captain: Your Choice Lets get serious VVS, Yuvraj won't even be considered The Players are Tendulkar, maybe Ganguly ( anything can happen in Indian Cricket ), Dhoni as youth and Kumble for his experience
Holysmoke Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Sach for tests, Dhoni for ODI's. I wouldnt mind yuvraj taking both.
King Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Dhoni should lead the ODI side and either Yuvraj or Dhoni should lead the test team. Ganguly and Tendulkar, absolute "NO". They both gave up or sacked as captain as they weren't good enough.
Guest Hiten. Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 yuvraj/dhoni.... its time we look for long term captains now.... Seniors might retire in 2-3 yrs, we cant afford to keep changing our team's leash holder every now and then.....SRT should notttttttttttttttttttttttt accept captaincy role now, he is in a good form now but he will efff it up big time if he does elect to become captain
Bandobast Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 I said 'Other'. My 'inspired' choice would be Kaif. :viking:
The Outsider Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 The inside scoop seems to be differences with Vengsarkar over interference in selection of XI/batting order etc.
Anakin Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Based on what? Dravid has a better W/L ratio than Ganguly disregarding minnows with a much worse team. He has won more series outside the subcontinent than any Indian captain, barring Wadekar. Just W/L ratio doesn't really prove everything. Cricket isn't just a number's game. RD made too many common-sense mistakes and lately not having a good form with the bat.
living Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Sach for tests' date=' Dhoni for ODI's. I wouldnt mind yuvraj taking both.[/quote'] And captain the test team from the bench?
simba28 Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Dravids reason for resigning as caiptan.. He reads ICF threads
Hawkeye Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 With a convincing test series in England and having provided a recovering team with stability Dravid should not have resigned. With games against Australia both at home and away we could have done without significant changes. I very much hope that he is convinced to stay as captain at least another 6 months but if not then an "interim" captain should be appointed on Tuesday, other than Dhoni (probably Yuvraj), for the Australia ODI visit. That will give us an opportunity to observe the interim and Dhoni in the 20/20 and if neither is up to it then we can go back to SRT and possibly Gangas
Rajiv Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 What happened to the previous poll? Which previous one? Was there one
apocalypse Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 so tendulkar is the captain? http://www.cricketnext.com/news/tendulkar-to-captain-both-test-odi-teams/26917-13.html

yoda Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 they should just give it to dhoni. it is not like we are going to find a new guy to lead in another year.
sandtest Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 It should be Ajit Agarkar.....Jai Maharshtra!!
