Ishwar Pandey is someone else who has to be looked after, although he's atleast another Ranji season away from contention. If Pandey can bowl averaging 135 km range, he will be an asset with his height.

The way this left-arm medium-pacer improved in recent times, critics point out, that it is a very positive sign in a bowler who knows what his job is and is in the mood to keep improving. This simpleton, who rarely raises his voice and a big hit among his teammates, is now rewarded for his consistency with the ball by being selected for the South Zone under-19 squad. A decent performance in the zonals means closer to the dream of making it to the India under-19, which is again often seen as the next big step before chasing another bigger dream – of playing for India. For someone who admires the Australian left-armer Mitchell Johnson a lot in bowling and explosive Virender Sehwag in batting, Milind is unlike many of the current crop of young talent which borders more on flamboyance than on consistency. Milind along with Gade Hanuma Vihari (Chaitanya Reddy is the first reserve) are the only Hyderabadis to make it to the South Zone under-19 team. “I enjoy bowling and I love making the early breakthroughs,” insists the shy boy. This Intermediate second year student of Little Flower Junior College made a big impact this season when he returned with an impressive three-wicket burst against the Kolkata Knight Riders packed with big-hitters. And, when he dismissed Yousuf Pathan, his joy knew no bounds. “The previous ball he hit me for a huge six. Then I deceived him with a slower one. That was a special wicket given his reputation and that really gave me lot of confidence that I can get the big players when given the chance,” he looks back. And, his victims included Manvinder Bisla and Goswami. Initially, Milind was more of an out-swing bowler but soon started bowling in-swingers too with equal ease. “Definitely, there is still a long way to go but I will never be found wanting to pick a few new things every time I interact with senior cricketers,” says the modest youngster, who is also a pretty useful bat too down the order. Right from his childhood, his ability to bowl long spells and with consistent speed always stood out. Even now, he bowls constantly around 130 kmph. This is reflected in his figures this season. He already got the feel of big-time cricket when he played for HCA President's XI picking three for 35 against Vidarbha in the Moni-ud-Dowla Gold cup before being wicket-less against HCA XI. That he has the spirit to come back strongly was demonstrated when Milind had figures of 3.2-0-29-3 against KKR in a practice game and two for 30 against Auckland Aces ahead of the CL T-20 matches here. In the Dhruv Pandove Trophy in Chandigarh, Milind was remarkably consistent with three for 51 vs. Punjab, four for 33 vs. Madhya Pradesh and four for 81 against Bengal. And, to prove that they were no flash in the pan, this Hyderabad boy picked 10 wickets in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy (under-19) tournament in the City even as the team put up a dismal performance.
