Straight Drive Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 David Masters is the first choice name in their attack. The leggie tom Craddock will be in the attack as well. Philipps does not offers Craddock much competition at least in the longer format. Topley would be in the attack as well. I see that Sajid Mahmood has moved to Essex, so he is likely to get enough matches as well. So Mills might only feature halfway. Napier was into wickets and ran through the opposition for a few times. They also have Tendo to bowl some medium pace. IMO it's about how David Masters leads this bowling attack. Wheater has moved from Essex to Hants. So Ben Foakes is likely to be their full time wicket keeper this season.
Straight Drive Posted March 17, 2013 Author Posted March 17, 2013 The Barbados preparatory tour for six counties has been disrupted due to two WestIndian teams declining to play against them suddenly citing payment issues. The six teams might now have to play between themselves. The matches have been rescheduled from K Oval to 3W's Oval.
Straight Drive Posted April 1, 2013 Author Posted April 1, 2013 Ashwell Prince has signed a two year contract with Lancs. An excellent re-signing IMO.
twww Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Chris Wright looks a decent prospect. Fairly sharp and good movement through the air.
twww Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Who cares. Even Piyush Chawla owned in that tourney. It has produced one or two players like Swann and Panesar who have done quite well in recent times in India.
saneindian Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Star Cricket showing the Somerset vs Warrwics game.watched parts of it..not one bowler hit 80+ mph consistently..Woakes was 79-80 mph, other guy around 77-78 mph
twww Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Wright is certainly sharper than that. 85ish and probably not going flat out due to the conditions- looking to swing it more. Has a stronger body action than alot of the English seamers at the moment so should manage to exploit bounce on most surfaces.
rkt.india Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 It will be pretty cold right now there and it is tough to bowl quick in cold weather. They can pull a muscle or two.
daryl1985 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Jamie Overton looks a decent prospect for Somerset, watching him on TV now.
rkt.india Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Jamie Overton looks a decent prospect for Somerset' date=' watching him on TV now.[/quote'] He clocked 150 in U19 WC.
daryl1985 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 He clocked 150 in U19 WC. Has averaged 84mph today. Top speed of 86, looks quite strong.

Straight Drive Posted April 30, 2013 Author Posted April 30, 2013 Chris Wright looks a decent prospect. Fairly sharp and good movement through the air. He was one of the best bowler last year.Has had a good start this year as well.
Straight Drive Posted April 30, 2013 Author Posted April 30, 2013 It has been few years since Piyush hogged limelight in county champs. :giggle:
SLICKR392 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 It has been few years since Piyush hogged limelight in county champs. :giggle: How good is this guy? C.Huges? Scored 270 against Yorkshire. http://www.espncricinfo.com/county-cricket-2013/engine/current/match/593472.html Root continues his fine form. :cheer: match winning 180 in the previous game and 70* now.

Last year (2012 champs) he was sitting on sidelines and iirc he didn't even play a single match. Good knock that of 270. He played T20 for Leewards Islands this year, but didn't play the four day domestic competition in West Indies.
Straight Drive Posted May 1, 2013 Author Posted May 1, 2013 Two consecutive 100's for Joe Root.
