Karan114 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 In his last eight Test innings, this loser has passed 10 once. In 29 Tests innings in total, he has made six ducks. I know Dhoni and Srinivasan have absolutely no shame but even by their standards, it is totally disgusting behaviour to keep bringing back this third rate Test player while destroying the career of genuine talents like Rahane. It is very rarely I wish for the failure of an Indian player but I find it really, really difficult to wish for the success of Raina - his continued selection despite failure after failure after failure in Tests really does represent everything that is so screwed up about our cricket.
Number Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Raina is slightly better than Rayudu coz of his intl expirience.
GoldenSun Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 And just like that, my faith in indian cricket takes a tumble.....

I can only shed tears of agony for Rahane. I honestly cannot fathom how a bum like Raina who has no temperament for test cricket can be constantly tried with for the umnpteenth time over a guy like Rahane...
Yoda-esque Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Hold On ..Maybe its not Suresh Raina but his Nephew that has been selected ?
don_corleone840 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I can only shed tears of agony for Rahane. I honestly cannot fathom how a bum like Raina who has no temperament for test cricket can be constantly tried with for the umnpteenth time over a guy like Rahane... rahane is good only for first class level. He looks terrible as batsman both technically and physically.Unmukt chand should be the next test cap for india. zm3sJthZ2-E looks amazing
cowboysfan Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 rahane is good only for first class level. He looks terrible as batsman both technically and physically.Unmukt chand should be the next test cap for india. zm3sJthZ2-E looks amazing and you made this amazing observation by watching loads of ranji cricket right?
don_corleone840 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 and you made this amazing observation by watching loads of ranji cricket right? By observing him in odis.He plays like mohammed kaif
saneindian Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Gaurav Kalra @gauravCNNIBN Srikkanth told us on air recently Rahane had spoken to the selectors and requested to be considered for the middle order only, not opener :( Another series gone for him carrying drinks
Sooda Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Well Raina is in the squad but may not play at all and hopefully Rahane will bat at 3 with Pujara opening
Sooda Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 A lot of stick Raina is getting- this is not so much his fault, its the selectors. Im a huge fan, Raina works pretty hard at his game to get this test spot - not that the flaws have gone-and has a good head on his shoulders, for all his technical faults against the short ball the guy has cojones and nerves as he has proved time and again in ODIs...
cowboysfan Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 By observing him in odis.He plays like mohammed kaif lets put aside this bad observation(by your reckoning yuvi and raina should be great at test cricket).what has Unmukt chand done that rahane hasnt done many many times over?
cowboysfan Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Gaurav Kalra @gauravCNNIBN Srikkanth told us on air recently Rahane had spoken to the selectors and requested to be considered for the middle order only, not opener :( Another series gone for him carrying drinks he wont be opening anyway right? .I find it astounding that they would consider Raina as an opener.
zep1706 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Nothing against Raina, like him in LOIs, but he's simply not made for test cricket. He shouldn't be anywhere near the test team. This is disgraceful, but can't expect much from CSK/Rhiti mafia.
zep1706 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 They replaced an opener with a middle order batsman, when we already have a middle order batsman waiting for his chance from ages. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they have Pujara as an opener and play Raina at 5/6. Hail CSK, hail Rhiti.
Crookbond Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Gaurav Kalra @gauravCNNIBN Srikkanth told us on air recently Rahane had spoken to the selectors and requested to be considered for the middle order only, not opener :( Another series gone for him carrying drinks LOL - conspiracy theorists would be disappointed.
bhumika Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 They would never select Rayudu. What crime did he do ? Except for joining ICL and he did his time and playing in IPL now and being so close to tendu doesn't even earn him a test cap.
Dumbbells Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Well, i have to say this is a wise selection. He seems to be hungry for test cricket and it reflects on whatever intrvw he has given in recent times. He score a century in mumbai vs roi match. I think he deserves an another chance to prove us wrong. I dnt knw who else u wud select? Rayudu? Jaffer? Or tiwary?
yoda Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Anyone who plays for CSK gets selected despite being worthless. Examples of such worthless players include Double centurion Vijay, top wicket taker Ashwin and second top wicket taker Jadeja. Let's hope Raina can add himself to that worthless list. :winky:
