Austin 3:!6 Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 A career of a great batsman like Viru should not end in this fashion. Hope he performs well in upcoming IPL, and then come back to the Indian team. We need him in South Africa series.
Junyfan Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 he should comeback, otherwise it Will be very difficult for india to draw a single test,he is class player.
Austin 3:!6 Posted March 22, 2013 Author Posted March 22, 2013 he should comeback' date='otherwise it Will be very difficult for india to draw a single test,he is class player.[/quote'] Completely Agree. :two_thumbs_up:
vamos_rafa Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Why IPL? He should score in County etc. and then come back. IPL should not be a barometer.
vvvslaxman Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 who said it is over. He can come back. But he was dropped for his poor performances even at home. For heavensake his replacement scored the fastest debut ton. Give him some space to grow.
shortbread Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 A big difference of having the likes of Vijay, Rahane, Pujara, Dhawan, Jadeja in the side is the huge lift it gives Indian fielding. Its another dimension that young blood brings to the team. The likes of sehwag/gambir will never give us that advantage. sehwag less said the better we have to hide him on the field somewhere, gambir is too slow to field close and at the ropes he not effective cos he throws like a girl, dhoni is always looking to sustitute gambir/sehwag on the field. So even if these 'we average 50' stalwarts make it into the side our fielding standard drops, thats 'IF' they click with the bat. We need new players whom we can invest in for a 5-7 year period. For me sehwag/gambir are not the answer.
