Predator_05 Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Apart from the Ind-Pak game and the RSA games' date=' what were the attendances like for the other games?[/quote'] I don't know, because i haven't watched every single game. Have you ?
Gambit Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I don't know' date=' because i haven't watched every single game. Have you ?[/quote'] Only watched Ind-Pak thus far and crowds were decent. Remember reading in commentary on CI that crowds were sparse for Aus-SL game.
theguyinallblue Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 i defeated pakistan..so i enjoyed that..other than that... its just some time pass... its not big in india.. let IPL and ICL start..we will see..what happens then..till then thumbs down..
yoda Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 20/20 should shut down 50 over cricket and hopefully the 5-day tamasha as well sooner than later. what a refreshing thing...for a cricket match to be over in under 3 hours. :eyedance:
MundaPakistani Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Over a 1000 posts in a 3 and a half hour game Enough said.
Anakin Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 20/20 should shut down 50 over cricket and hopefully the 5-day tamasha as well sooner than later. what a refreshing thing...for a cricket match to be over in under 3 hours. :eyedance: Dude change your nickname, you're insulting it with that kind of cra.p :giggle:
yoda Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Dude change your nickname' date=' you're insulting it with that kind of cra.p :giggle:[/quote'] yoda has better things to do with life than waste 5 days of his life watching cricket. when will he train young skywalker to beat the cr@p out of you if he spends 5 days watching a stupid test match? :hysterical:
coffee_rules Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 They just want to popularize the format among Indians. That's why we are seeing India doing so well.
Gambit Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I guess we won't expect to see yoda on ICF when Pak tours India for 3 tests and India tours Australia for 4. :two_thumbs_up:
Dooks Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 rp FINISHES 4/14 and he still doesn't get MoM - there is something wrong there somewhere. BTW on the topic. Only care if we beat the Pakis - apart from that this is rubbish. My feeling is that over time 50-50 will become 40-40 (with few new rules) but not die. I prefer the ODI & tests.
yoda Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I guess we won't expect to see yoda on ICF when Pak tours India for 3 tests and India tours Australia for 4. :two_thumbs_up: well, you didn't get the fack out during this tourney, did you? :haha:
veer Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I didnt like this format.. and I still dont like it.. this is all fun... its like a football match between bolly actors and cricketers.. watch.. have fun... n sleep.. no heart burns.. but its not CRICKET..
Gambit Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 well' date=' you didn't get the fack out during this tourney, did you? :haha:[/quote'] I had to be there to remind you losers how crappy it is. :D

yoda Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I had to be there to remind you losers how crappy it is. :D can't fault you for trying. :haha:
kumble_rocks Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I had to be there to remind you losers how crappy it is. :D If you must know, in the early seventies purists said the same thing about ODI and now it has become more popular than Tests !. Twenty20 will become as popular as ODI in my opinion in the coming years.
Bumper Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Tho it makes for good entertainment, I still dont take this form of the game seriously. My only interest in this tournament, is to see some of the new players blossom as well as to see the goners make a come back (Rohit, Irfan, Bhajji, Sehwag etc) 20/20 however is a serious threat to ODIs. If we have another boring world cup that may be the death knell of all ODI tourneys. This form of the game is highly marketable. It wont die. Ironically i can see 20/20, funding test cricket, to keep tests alive.

kumble_rocks Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 and the proponents of ODI cricket had also forecasted the death of Test Match cricket back in the late 80s early 90s when the stock of ODI cricket soared .... what has only happened is that the no.of test matches played in the last 2 decades is at an all time high and we have almost played as many Tests played in the entire decade of 1990 in about 7 years ... :D That is because the interest in tests has not dwindled in India and I am pleasantly surprised. But take the example of other countries like Pakistan or Sri Lanka. Hardly any attendance for tests not involving India. Even Pak England matches having all superstars were played in half empty stadiums. Even you will have to admit ODI is much more popular than Tests from fan's perspective. I liken it to art movie (Test cricket) versus Commercial movie(ODI).
Guest dada_rocks Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 It still remains a circus any team can beat any team all it needs is some quirk of luck.. Srilanka got done by morning stare see how pathetic they looked..just an hour of bad luck u are gone out of the tournament
