Vilander Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 good story..Javed Khan let us see if he gets a game...interesting hope he does not go the kamran khan way.
rkt.india Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 He is trundler. He is tall, has a good physique but his action is messed up. He played for MUmbai in Ranji trophy, was bowling around 130.
rkt.india Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 His profile. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/player/475374.html PS: Looks like he is a different guy than the one who played for Mumbai this season.
sumvell Posted March 31, 2013 Author Posted March 31, 2013 This fellow is 20 yrs old and hasn't played any 1st class cricket...
rkt.india Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 The 20-year-old hails from Gajraula village in Uttar Pradesh. UP is certainly becoming a fast bowling factory of India. PK, RP, BK, Tyagi, Panakj Singh, Shami, Yadav, Shukla, Rajpoot, Kamran Khan, now this lad and 2 impressive lads from AMU. It is a long list.
rkt.india Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Dont know why Kamran Khan is not picked by any team? A 2011 article on him how he was messed up at NCA by coaches. Kamran Khan is a victim of NCA's poor coaching, says report Kamran Khan the find of Indian premier League (IPL) 2009 has lost pace and confidence due to poor coaching available at National Cricket Academy (NCA), according to a report in Mid Day. The newspaper quoted an unnamed NCA official on Saturday, "NCA believes in copybook coaching. They are very orthodox in their approach. Rather than solving a problem, they only complicate it. "Kamran is a classic example in the recent times. He came to the NCA after he was reported for a suspect action in the IPL II in South Africa. The pacer was made to bowl side-on which changed his style and rhythm completely. The poor fellow followed everything in order to continue playing cricket." According to the official, the worst part is that Kamran has not only lost his pace but also his confidence due to the so-called rehabilitation process at NCA. "But he drastically lost pace, which was his principal weapon. His speed dipped to around 90kmph. He also lost his confidence. The way he was handled was very depressing. "They (RR) sent him to the Centre of Excellence (CoE) based in Australia to rectify his action and get back his pace. The important thing was that they did not change his natural action despite rectifying it," the source added. According to the source there is a huge difference between NCA and the Australian Cricket Academy where the former lags behind a mile. "Kamran needed special attention because of an unusual bend in his bowling arm. He has a slinging action because he fell from a tree during his childhood and that resulted in his right arm being bent. And within a few months, Kamran was back at his best," the source said before adding, "That’s the difference between the NCA and the Australian centre. They (CoE) treat each case differently. They understand body dynamics really well." The NCA director of operations Sandeep Patil refused to comment on the matter."My contract with the BCCI does not permit me to speak to the media," Sandeep Patil was quoted by Mid Day.
Texan Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Is he the same Javed Khan who played some seasons for Mumbai?
Texan Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 I couldn't stop laughing at this: Khan's pace and bounce had Suresh Raina hopping and even got him on the body with a vicious bouncer. If only that was the criteria, I'm sure we'd have a ton more pace bowlers lined up :haha:
fineleg Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 ^ Exactly...it is easy to get suresh raina to hop with high school fast bowlers also :)

rkt.india Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Is he the same Javed Khan who played some seasons for Mumbai? I thought the same at first, but he is someone else. He is from Delhi who came from UP 2 years back and now plays for Chetan Chauhan's academy.
rkt.india Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 ^ Exactly...it is easy to get suresh raina to hop with high school fast bowlers also :) You are wrong. Check his T20 century against Steyn, Morkel in WI. He can thrash any bowler. I dont think his problem is short ball. His problem is foot work and anticipation. There is no batsman who does not have issue with fast short pitch bowling, but thing is how they play followup balls and that is where he does not do well.
