Should the IPL even exist and why?

There are so many reasons for IPL to exist. Cricket is played for the entertainment of public and IPL serves the purpose. This is the most interesting event in cricket after 50 overs world cup( this is purely my personal opinion). It is a great source of income for players who are not selected for the national team. Give confidence to younger domestic players as they share the dressing room with international greats. Generates job opportunities for many directly or indirectly. Also brings revenue for India and BCCI. I can understand pakis, Sri lungis or English obsession with anything bad about IPL but why Indians want IPL not to exist is beyond me.

Its just that IPL has so many T20 cricketers playing in a quality tournament. BBL has better quality in terms of cricket, but does not have the Stardom factor, the crowds, and mixed culture of cricket....and also, lesser money. Also, the timing of BBL is a reason for its lack of popularity to SC people

i seriously doubt that. the fact is australia have never won a world cup and are currently ranked number 8 or something in the rankings and never really held a high rank in t20. Surely if that the best Australia can produce in T20 how can their domestics be better?

and look how IPL is infested with BBL players laughlin, richardson, coulternile, chris burns, and so many others are playing in IPL. BTW, Australia qualified to the finals in 2010, and also the SFs in 2012. India did not even qualify to the finals in 2012. BBL has a wealth of quality domestic players, IPL doesnt. With guys like munaf patel, arun karthik and so many mediocre players taking part.

India hasn't even made the knockouts of the WT20 since IPL began. IPL teams have a very mediocre performance in CL as well, despite having such a high representation.

for T20s, yes. But if you look it in one way, the influx of T20 cricket into aussie cricket has led to their failure in Tests and ODIs but one cannot blame BBL and other T20 tournaments, solely

thats some wharped logic. The IPL needs 90 foreign players. Out of which England is ruled out due to issues with counties, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe are ****, Pakistan is ruled out due to political issues. That leaves players from NZ SA, Aus WI and SL to fill the bulk of those places. Can you name those "quality" players in australian domestic league?

In 2011 the champions league final was an all ipl affair.
