Behen ki ch.... tumhari ek seedha sa catch nahin pakad paaye would simply translate to kya yaar catch gira diya. It's only non Northies who lay so much emphasis on the abuse part. The abuse part is used and considered an auxiliary verb, nothing to fret about.

But these MCs BCs have become part of the lexicon even in intl cricket especially from the Ganguly era, don't remember our players being as abusive in the earlier era

It will be quite fun when a Southie says those words to a Northie and the Northie in his mind will translate to "Kya yaar". But of course, the northie heads are as hot as Sunny Leone in a skimpy saree when it comes to taking abuse and then they will take offense and will reply with "Tu Jaantha Nahi mein Kaun Hu". So much for not taking abuse seriously. Once while traveling in Delhi Metro someone said that to me and I replied - "Haan yaar, mein seriously nahi jaanta tu kaun hai."

When I was actively involved in cricket in India in the mid to late 90s I noticed a difference in culture between the Lucknow under 19 and Panjab University teams - firstly the Panjab University team was a lot tougher to get into, but once you were part of the team it was every other team player backing the other, even if you have clearly done something out of line. In Lucknow Under 19 one would get internally rebuked for actions, but in PU team the general attitude was - "appa bhund nahin maarte, je ho gaya jaaan de". Can't say which was better - personally I enjoyed PU more.

It is quite natural for people not used to it to take offense.
