Texan Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Probables: M Vijay, Shikhar Dhawan, Gautam Gambhir, Unmukt Chand, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Manoj Tiwary, Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni, Wriddhiman Saha, Dinesh Karthik, R Ashwin, Amit Mishra, Ravindra Jadeja, Jalaj Saxena, Parvez Rasool, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ashok Dinda, Umesh Yadav, Shami Ahmed, Irfan Pathan, Vinay Kumar, Praveen Kumar, Ishwar Pandey, Sidharth Kaul. I am not at all surprised at the omission of Zaheer, Sehwag and Bhajji.
kubrickian Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Good decision. They were great players but dont fit into ODI side anymore IMO.
diga Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Ishwar Pandey & Sid Kaul ... :two_thumbs_up: Kedhar Jadhav is a welcome addition.. So selectors are monitoring ICF:--D
CG Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 The headline should be Pujara does not even find a place in 30 probables. When the batting will fail in england we will miss pujara.
Texan Posted April 6, 2013 Author Posted April 6, 2013 Ishwar Pandey & Sid Kaul ... :two_thumbs_up: Kedhar Jadhav is a welcome addition.. So selectors are monitoring ICF:--D Yeah, he's a consistent performer in domestic LOIs; deserves a chance. :two_thumbs_up:
Texan Posted April 6, 2013 Author Posted April 6, 2013 The headline should be Pujara does not even find a place in 30 probables. When the batting will fail in england we will miss pujara. That is a bit surprising. But honestly, I feel Pujara should be preserved for Tests so his solid technique doesn't get ruined by this limited overs mess.
kubrickian Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 The headline should be Pujara does not even find a place in 30 probables. When the batting will fail in england we will miss pujara. This is ridiculous. Why is Pujara not in the ODI squad ? Wasnt he selected in ODI squad against England ? What happened in between ? He even scored runs at a fast pace in tests and he definitely deserves to play in ODI team. Really terrible decision.
Lord Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Rohit,Rahane n GG stay:facepalm: hope they are not in final XV
diga Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 The headline should be Pujara does not even find a place in 30 probables. When the batting will fail in england we will miss pujara. Pujara is a surprise omission.. lets hope this means he tours SA with the A team then No left arm pacers either apart from Irfan
kubrickian Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 That is a bit surprising. But honestly' date=' I feel Pujara should be preserved for Tests so his solid technique doesn't get ruined by this limited overs mess.[/quote'] If he plays in ODIs, his technique wont be ruined. What about Sachin, Dravid, Ponting, Richards, Amla, Cook etc. ? He scores runs at a good strike rate in one dayers. Another instance of selectors looking clueless and having no idea what they are doing. Sandip Patil :fail:
CG Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 The guy is in form of his life,Averages 57 in domestic odis .He is going to be fit by last week of april .Tourney is in june.

Sandip Patil :fail: I would rather have him concentrate on tests, especially when there are plenty of batsmen in ODIs that can bat in the middle order.
Texan Posted April 6, 2013 Author Posted April 6, 2013 Rohit,Rahane n GG stay:facepalm: hope they are not in final XV Rohit Sharma got a match-winning 83 in the second last ODI India played against England. He could be used as an opening batsman.
diga Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Rohit Sharma got a match-winning 83 in the second last ODI India played against England. He could be used as an opening batsman. and zilch apart from that 83
India-KXIP fan Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Calm down Pujara fans, it doesn't mean Pujara isn't in India's ODI team plans for all his career. They didn't pick Bhaji, Zak and Viru because they will be old by the time 2015 WC comes so they picked a team accordingly. We all know how Pujara was owned in SA last time so they didn't want any ftb's. They wanted players like future captain Virat Kohli. :two_thumbs_up: After 2015 WC Pujara will definitely feature in the team :two_thumbs_up: Nice to see the very talented Rohit Sharma still in the plans, hope we see more of this from him in 2015: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Fny5C5YCEw]Rohit Sharma 77 vs Australia SCG 2008 - YouTube[/ame]
Texan Posted April 6, 2013 Author Posted April 6, 2013 and zilch apart from that 83 Agreed, his form is a bit of a roller coaster ride. But, he is a special talent. I hope he makes it to the final squad.
Needforspeed Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Overall an OK selection, except Pujara. Maybe they want to give him rest after IPL with his knee issues, otherwise there seems to be no logical reason to omit him. Rohit Sharma is a waste of berth.
carnish Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Still surprised not to see Pankaj Singh and Uthappa miss out. Rahane needs to go and Stuart Binny needs to be given a chance especially in the meaningless tri-series in the carribean.
