Zelig Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Murtaza' date=' Finch are legends? Bhuvaneswar kumar went only for 23 runs .. Wright went only for 24 runs. Majority of his runs came agains Finch, Murtaza, Marsh on an even more flatter surface while setting target and even smaller ground.[/quote'] Why would Gayle have to go after Bhuvi when he knows that Murtaza/Finch and other hacks will be served up to him :dontknow:
vvvslaxman Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 Yes' date=' I don't think he can.[/quote'] so stalemate.. :winky:
rkt.india Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Gayle scored 74 off the remaining 28 balls :dontknow: Gayle scored last 75 runs in 36 balls, not 28. First 100 was in 30 balls.
vvvslaxman Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 Why would Gayle have to go after Bhuvi when he knows that Murtaza/Finch and other hacks will be served up to him :dontknow: So gayle had the luxury of picking bowlers of his choice to attack. Miller had no such choice. He had to go after every bowler to make a fist of the chase.
Sachin=GOD Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 @those counting number of balls taken by Gayle & Miller - its really not about the number of balls taken to reach 50 or 100 (or 150 in case of Gayle), rather its about the sheer impact of the innings and in terms if that I'd still rate Gayle's innings higher.
Zelig Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Murtaza' date=' Finch are legends? Bhuvaneswar kumar went only for 23 runs .. Wright went only for 24 runs. Wright bowled most of his overs during that time. I don't think he would have been spared had he been brought up earlier. Based on quality, Miller or even Watto's vs mafioso was way better. But 175 is fking lot of runs and it wouldn't be surpassed in a long time.
Zelig Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Gayle scored last 75 runs in 36 balls' date=' not 28. First 100 was in 30 balls.[/quote'] vvs spotted Miller scored 100 off 38, so what he could have achieved had he batted 66 balls, same as Gayle. Hence my comparison.

Sachin=GOD Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 David Miller today: First 18 balls 27 runs (1x4,1x6) SR 150.00 Next 20 balls 74 runs (7x4,6x6) SR 370.00

But Miller had none. Either do or die situation for him. He put together a partnership of 130 runs in 8.1 overs.. his partner made 27 of them.. If that is not impact innings i don't know what else is.
Zelig Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I thought we are only talking about quality.. not quantity :hmmm: Overall, quality, quantity, impact, etc :headshake:
vvvslaxman Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 Yes.. that innings was great.. between Gayle vs Murtaza, Marsh, Finch at Bangalore while chasing with lot of wickets in hand vs Miller vs Vinay, RP, Rampaul at Punjab while chasing with no real batsmen to come I know i will pick the second one all the time.
Rocky Balboa Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Miller's innings has to b d best. I had to mute TV as my dad was talking to someone on phone. Grrrr....
Straight Drive Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 For me Gayle's innings is best and Millers one of the best. 74 runs more is too much in T20 format.It's just 26 short of another 100.
Zelig Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Based on quality, I prefer Watson. It was against the best attack in IPL barring SRH in Hyd. People forgot it coz it was a losing effort.

vvvslaxman Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 @vvs While chasing? RCB was batting 1st yea.. mistake.. while batting.. i meant to write that.

In Miller's case it was not T20.. It was more T10. When he walked in he had 12 overs left. When he walked out 2 overs left.
