That is because he surprised all of us. No one really had expected him to do that well. Shami had outbowled him everywhere in FC matches, India A matches, etc. He played IPL 2012 too and did not look anything special. Even in Ranji trophy matches shown live, he was not really distinct to others. I think it is all about confidence he got since his debut in his abilities. He did bowl well but still he has a long way to go. The way he is bowling in T20s, he is able to get good ER, but is not getting enough wickets up front. His comments about learning to bowl well in the death overs also shows how he wants to work on his weaknesses.
