superstar Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Adding everyone to the auction is the most stupidest rule. 2011 IPL sucked because of that. Need a consistent team. I highly doubt any team other than PWI will want to go through it again.

It would be weird seeing Dhoni and Raina with a new franchise. They have been with the chennai team from the beginning and are the core of the csk team.

(if 5 players allowed to be retained) and probably buy back Johnson and the likes of Kulkarni and Munaf (if both do well in the remaining matches)

1983-2011 Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Put all the players in the auction including uncapped indian players who have and have not played in the IPL. Add 3 more teams to IPL to take the total number to 12. 2 groups of 6 teams. each team plays the other 5 teams in the group home and away and only play the other 6 teams in the other group only once. total number of matches played by each team would add up to 16. importantly make sure that the tournament only lasts maximum of 8 weeks

However, there are reports that some franchisees want to retain the players like they could last year. I am quite sure that the who's who of BCCI will step in and along with the veto power of IPL committee the rules will be modified such that franchisees can retain the players.
