I6MTW Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 I agree. He is not fit and rushed back into the team after recovering from cancer. He was selected in the test team where he did poorly. He didnt do well in the England ODI series either. He had one good knock in a T20 against Pakistan but apart from that, nothing much. His bowling has gone down also and has failed even in IPL. And that 72 was at Motera, Ahmedabad. One of the flattest pitches.
Pagalpanti Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 Only 3 players have survived from the WC final 3 years ago : Dhoni' date=' Kohli and Raina[/quote'] And guess what? India has the 2nd best W/L ratio since then, yet selectors keep chopping and changing squad.. its become a joke now.
I6MTW Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Do selectors think they are going to get square turners in England as they have picked 3 spinners in the team? Jadeja and Ashwin will always get into the side automatically. Mishra they picked because of IPL form.
King Tendulkar Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Did not realiuse mishra has been picked. Terrible pick!!!! Fat lump Indian selctors dont seem to understand what a good bowler is. Vinnay, crapthan and mishra. FFS!!! Shami looked real decent and did well, good wheels. How could they axe him??? Based on IPL or something!!! Madness
Lord Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 :WTF: pathetic squad:facepalm: Yuvi must be picked. How many chances will Nohit n Ishant get?.Praveen is better than Vinay too.Mooli Vijay?
BeautifulGame Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Agree with a lot. Apart from crapthan and Vinay Shami did really well in odis. Looked real prospect. WTF did he do to deserve to get dropped. Would defo have picked Shami. Agree with all batting decsions. Yuvi is finsihed People said the same about Yuvi before World Cup Yuvi is finished blah blah blah But he was backed and changed our fortunes. Yuvi is our greatest world tournaments player I have seen. Doesn't matter whether he is in poor form or looking unmotivated in IPL or tests. He should have been one of the first choices in a world tournament like CT IMO
Cevno Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Umesh Yadav is a **** ODI bowler. Vijay is just a **** ODI batsman. Vinay is meh. Rohit is just a IPL sensation that keeps getting chances.
King Tendulkar Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 People said the same about Yuvi before World Cup Yuvi is finished blah blah blah But he was backed and changed our fortunes. Yuvi is our greatest world tournaments player I have seen. Doesn't matter whether he is in poor form or looking unmotivated in IPL or tests. He should have been one of the first choices in a world tournament like CT IMO Well mu hunch is that he is over. But then like many say, he never gives a monkeys about IPL and is not indicator. I agree in some ways may be harsh call. On reflection could have picked him instead of mishra. He will probably be just as effective as ball as that fat bastard
Karan114 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Gambhir was rightly axed from the Test side, but it is weird to axe him from the ODI side in favor of Vijay. I'll admit I was proven wrong about the Vijay selection in Tests, but at least there he had a semblance of form in the Irani Trophy game and had a Test hundred against Aus at home in 2010. But in limited overs cricket outside of India, there is simply no justification to select Vijay. At the moment he can't even get in the tamasha league side. Guess Gambhir has wound up a lot of people with his constant big talk and is being served a lesson. Dropping Yuvi is just absurd. Sure he hasn't been in great form since his comeback but the guy has a history of performing when it counts and its not like we have much better players available. Agree with the bizarre three spinners choice. Mishra is a total liability at international level - I don't care how many tamasha league batsmen he bullies. Overall a bad squad - disappointing stuff from Sandeep Patil.
King Tendulkar Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Umesh Yadav is a **** ODI bowler. Vijay is just a **** ODI batsman. Vinay is meh. Rohit is just a IPL sensation that keeps getting chances. Rohit is class
Sidhoni Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 And guess what? India has the 2nd best W/L ratio since then' date=' yet selectors keep chopping and changing squad.. its become a joke now.[/quote'] Didn't know that! Chopping and changing to bring new players is good, but they just bringing tried and tested failures like Vijay, Rohit and Ishant.
I6MTW Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Rohit is class Of course. Form is temporary, Maggi class is permanent.
Karan114 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Umesh Yadav is a **** ODI bowler. Vijay is just a **** ODI batsman. Vinay is meh. Rohit is just a IPL sensation that keeps getting chances. Its become pointless to even comment on this now. Awful, awful player at international level but will keep getting in the India team because of his backers.
King Tendulkar Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 On reflection dropping yuvi is silly. He deserves a chance to see if still has it
kubrickian Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Mishra is a good pick because he is in good form. Its always good to have variety in the side. I would have liked to see Shami Ahmed but he hasnt been playing in IPL and we dont know his current form. Blame Gambhir for that.
King Tendulkar Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Rohit is quality. He will prove it. Frankly needs 1 year run in all formats, particularly TESTS!!!
Sachin=GOD Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Rohit is quality. He will prove it. Frankly needs 1 year run in all formats, particularly TESTS!!! for once I agree with you.
Cevno Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Rohit is quality. He will prove it. Frankly needs 1 year run in all formats, particularly TESTS!!! Then select him in tests. Not in ODI's where he keeps failing time and again for over 4 years now.
