I agree with Lalit modi.I have never seen a professional tournament where the teams are not in charge,why is the BCCI even involved in the IPL anymore? Teams should take over the IPL and make their own rules.

What are say CSK going to do? is there any other ground in chennai they can play at apart from BCCI affiliated Chepauk? Same for Pune Bangalore KKR. Its a same for a whole host of teams. Only mumbai have the option of Brabounre and Dy patil which are in private hands. BCCI own most of the infra Either through freehold or leasehold. Modi as usual is talking ****.

Betting and whole host of scandals have always hit the italian league. Big issues in club football and baseball in Japan and South Korea. **** happens all around the world. I live in the UK and even a highly regulated sport as horse racing is facing major drug and fixing scandals.

But not the betting syndicates, it seems. Logic would dictate that the number of bookies who have been arrested would ensure the betting network lies low for the next few days. However, a Headlines Today investigation has revealed that the betting syndicate is in over drive ahead of the IPL finals with bets worth Rs 1500 crores riding on the season's summit clash. One of the biggest bookies in the country spoke to Headlines Today, saying that bets worth Rs 1500 crore have already been placed on the 3-and-a-half hour game. Apparently, those running the betting syndicate are quite sure that even vigilant cops will not be able to significantly dent the quantum of bets placed. This has forced the BCCI to finally wake up to the menace and try and put in place some concrete measure to ensure that the IPL finale isn't marred by spot or match fixing. It doesnt happen here in the US.the point is we should let the teams be responsible for their own success or failure,the market wont accept cheats.BCCI should not be involved in a private enterprise in any capacity as long as they get tax exempt status from the government.
